As for Chico, I'm not sure why it's so strange - I mean, how much different is it from any pop music, really? Pop music is universally cheesy and silly...that's what makes it pop
It seems like the same as the Cheecky Girls a few years back on Pop Idol: they absolutely STANK, but became the joke of the nation for a couple of weeks. 15 minutes of pop chart fame ensued.
