DDO - Good Nights For Group Play

For those of you that haven't tried it yet, Dungeons & Dragons Online is a fun MMO that's been a blast to play with a small group of freinds. I love WOW, but there's something to be said for the kind of simple & approachable group play that DDO offers. Putting together 4-6 person teams of GWJ guildmates is a lot easier than organizing a WOW 40 man guild raid (no matter how much I'd like to do that). So far the game seems centered on this type of small group questing. With that said I just wanted to highlight what seems to be the best nights to hook up with some GWJ's in game and get questing.

Monday's and Wednesday's seem to be the best days during the week with quite a few guildmates able to make one or both nights. Weekends are probably going to be hit or miss depending on everyone's obligations but for me personally, Sunday night seems best. Nobody's putting out any set times here, but these are probably the nights you'll be able to run across someone in the guild. Most of us seem interested in keeping this casual. I already have an all-consuming game addiction with WOW, I don't need another. So far this game is fitting my needs for an alternate MMO experience pretty well and the future prospects look promising.

If your interested in joining us post your character name in the DDO online recall thread and keep an eye for the characters already listed there. See you in game!

Mondays and Wednesdays work for me... so I'll probably be around for those evenings on a regular basis...

I would love to step away from WOW for a bit and try this game out with your group but I don't have a guest pass, and have no intention of giving Atari another 50 dollars "to see" if it's any good.

If anyone have a spare guest pass to e-mail me that would be super, I will create a character on the same server I've seen posted.

What levels are people now? I'd like to try it out, but I'm worried that I'd be so far behind that it wouldn't be fun - either I'd have to find pickup groups or I'd have to find tour guides, both of which aren't that fun.

I never minded piracy. Anyone who minds about piracy is full of sh*t. Anyone who pirates your game wasn't going to buy it anyway! -Warren Spector

I've got characters at Levels 1-3... the highest level in our guild is 5 currently. 2s and 3s seem to make good groups together. If you wanted to catch up, you could get a character to level 2 within a day or two. I would recommend partnering up for your first 2 levels with a buddy (maybe someone in GWJ wants to start another character?) because you're not going to get far going solo (a cleric would probably have the best shot).

I'm definitely taking a slow pace to the game (1 or 2 nights a week) and really enjoying the group aspect of questing. I already gave away my buddy pass, but there still should be some GWJ'ers out there who might have one of those 10 day dealies left to give out!

ps. The guild list and friends list is still broken in game, so I once again encourage DDO'ers to hop on the GWJ ventrilo server to see who's on...
