Falling Sand Java game

This is really really neat.

Quite seriously, I tought about posting my praise for that game for a good twenty minutes. I thought about it, and intended to do it. But that thing is just so relaxing, so Zen, that I couldn't pry myself away. The slow nature of it makes forward planning possible. It's nice to set up an elaborate series of events, and watch them slowly play out. It's almost ludicrously theraputic. I will stop playing... Any. Minute. Now.
I made this as well, while I was still stuck on actually creating stuff with this. Soon enough, though, I was just doodling. Relaxing as hell. It's like one of those rock gardens.

Glad you like it Morro.
And that is a clever piece of work.
A little more explanation for the click-shy:
This is a Java based paint canvas/playground with a palette consisting of about a dozen different "substances" that interact in different ways with each other.
Water makes Plant grow. Fire burns plants. The "??" is wildfire, it burns through everything. Cera means "Wax". The Namekuji is a slug, so feeding it water makes it grow, and feeding it salt makes it shrink.

Wow that's really quite nice. Thanks for sharing that.
I made an.. umm... exploding... device... thing.
Built a big container out the wood stuff and filled it with oil, then made a fuse out of the wood and lit it.

Diabolical!

It's very addictive. I wasn't even experimenting with the intereactions just making things fall and trying to catch them in rather elaborate circles and things. Started running very slowly for me after a while though.

Holy crap that's insidious!
I just spent an hour watching that...that...that THING! It seemed so peaceful. And I just wanted to see what would happen if I did this. Or this. Or THIS.
Thanks for the link, though.

That was awesome. I realized everything except for the slug - which I had fun setting on fire. So cool.

Love it! I set up salt traps for the slug, make pretty waterfalls and design oil bombs with slow burning wicks. Wicked fun!
You can burn the slugs? BRB...

You can also freeze the slug by dripping way on him.

Wait a minute, how do you drip wax on something?

Cera is wax. Light it on fire, and watch the melty goodness.

Holy CRAP. Took me a minute to recognize it, but MAN, that's good. Especially since it's turned 90 degrees. That's talent, man.

Souldaddy, that is incredible! You have either got some tremendous talent or way too much time on your hands.

Souldaddy, that is crazy awesome.
Also I noticed that it's hosted on idisk.mac.com, which apparently creates a tiny icon version of whatever picture you're posting. So right click on his version and copy image location, and then paste it into an address bar to see what I'm talking about. Works for me in Firefox 1.5.
Edit: Duhh, I should have just given you the link. This also helps for those that can't see it displayed here in this thread.

Holy crap souldaddy, that is amazing. From this point forward you are forever debarred from claims to modesty, for you clearly outstrip us all in every respect.

Admittedly, the third picture is really impressive, but I also have to say that the second picture is really neat as well.

souldaddy, he said no more modesty, and I agree. Now shut up and take the praise.

Yeah, souldaddy, that made me say "holy crap" loud enough to startle the cat.
Holy crap, man.
I actually saw this on reddit already, or maybe it was on digg. But great game eitherway.
