Every now and then, this rumor resurfaces, but unfortunately, as it is right now, it's only a rumor. According to the largest fansite for Futurama, Got Futurama, the IMDB entry is false, written by an over-zealous poster who was, in turn, inspired by a comment made by Billy West, saying that he was in talks for new direct to DVD Futurama content.
Also, this topic was previously discussed here about three or four months ago. So, um, *cough*, I guess.

Oops. If my brain hadn't turned to crap over the long and difficult holiday, I'd have searched for that.
I guess I'll have to continue to feed my Futurama habit by writing more Zoidberg/Professor erotic fan fiction (Please, please don't tell me such a thing really exists).

I dunno... if the Simpson's is any indication of how MG's work is going downhill with age, I'd be a little worried about picking this up without a rental or friend viewing first.

...? Picking *what* up without a rental or friend viewing first? Didn't we just get done saying the movie is a rumor? Are you pulling some Buddhist trick to confuse me? Goddamn tricky Buddhists.

Hey now, I'm just saying... rumor or not, if this was real, I'd be more than a little worried about picking it up considering how downhill the Simpson's has gone, and how a series starting up after it's been dumped seems to cause a little of the momentum that made it great to begin with. Or maybe that's just me?

I assume you mean that a resurrected series isn't quite as good as it was the first time around? If so, I heartily agree. Family Guy - once one of my very favorite shows - has been declining since its rebirth. I suppose one can attribute that to Seth's focus being on American Dad, though, which has markedly improved since its lukewarm pilot.

Groening hasn't been involved with the Simpson's in a long time as far as I know other than snorting the coke and screwing the wh*res that the money rolling in from being the creator of them brings.
I think Family Guy has been better since it's come back and definately more on the edgier side now they just got to kill Meg she's hardly in the show anymore either. What is Fox going to do, kill the series?
(Speaking of Meg, does anyone know why they switched actors for the voice for her from the first or second season?)
If Futurama makes a comeback I'll be there.

There's probably about two *coughs* for this, but I'm too lazy to do it.
