Immortal Cities : Children of the Nile

Funny enough, when my wife bought this game we were actually out hunting for it's predecessor "Pharoah" which was a lot of fun.
So far I'm having a lot of trouble getting this to run fairly well on my system but it's a fantastic game.
There's really very little in the way of combat, most of the challengescome from trying to socially engineer a large city.
Any recommendations to improve performance?

I was thinking of getting this, but my rig is starting to get a little long in the tooth. What are your specs?

I picked this up, and am sad to say, the Sim City Deluxe Pack utterly obilterated it in my "playing time" column. Learning as much as it taught me about Egyptian society was nice, but I was bored by the end of the tutorial.

I enjoy this game a great deal, but it's not really all that fast moving. As for performance, I don't know what to say. It takes forever to load on my fairly nice machine, but after that the performance has been fine.

It's super fun for the first couple of hours, but the obtuse indirect interaction with your subjects sucks all of the fun out of it after a while.

I still like it. It's the computer game equivalent of meditation. Really, really relaxing.
I'll buy the next one, I'm sure.
Extremism in the defense of liberty *is* a vice. It has been since the first Crown Loyalist was tarred, feathered and set afire, and it's no better now. It corrupts first the individual, then ultimately the institution it defends.
On a totally different note-- Sanjuro, your new avatar is all kinds of awesome!
