Friday Night Civ IV

For those of us who enjoyed the MP game of Civ IV tonight (I remember Edwin, Grumpi, Danny, Pyro, other had I not been drinking), Grumpi has the game saved and is rearin' to go on continuing this game if you guys are so inclined. Perhaps we should say any night that more than 3 of us are able to make it would be a good night to try. If tonight was any indication, more than 3 people is about the most we can expect from an extended session. Anyway, nice playing with you all so far and I hope it will continue beyond this beginning. I'm also hoping that I'm not in last place when someone (Grumpi) wins.

Like the zebra said, I've got the final save on my hard drive. I'm good to go any night starting at about the same time (I believe we started about 10:30p EST), even if it's only for an hour or two a night (vs. tonight 4-hour session). I suggest we go with a minimum of 5 players (of the 8 total, counting the Duckilama... though we still have room for one more person to take over America from the AI for a total of 9 players) to start a session and a threshold of 3 to keep it going (we quit only a turn or two after Danny dropped - but not before Ghandi converted him from Christianity to Buddhism for whatever reason). I'm looking forward to keeping this going (I had fun, thanks)... though I would be willing to email the save file to someone else if you guys wanted to start a session without me.
Of course, the other option is to convert it over to a PBEM game.
Oh, and I've got my mic working in TS now. Sorry about that. I hadn't had time (or cause) to set it up on this new machine before tonight.

Sorry I bailed early in the night. I was feeling great until I had a few Sam Adams and around 1 AM started falling asleep at the keyboard. If you guys wouldn't mind, I'd like to jump back into my empire the next time the game's fired up.

I didn't get to play long, but it was fun. I was impressed just by the fact that hotjoining worked and the whole thing didn't crash when someone dropped out and, in general, the MP just... worked.
Also, I don't know what the AI was doing before I got there, but at least I got his Iron and Stone hooked up. Go France! Woot! Frogs rule!

I'll do what I can to stave off the wife so I can resume trying to not get swallowed whole by the Incas and... I think Russia. Did I already miss one night of this game? If so, I would not be suprised to see that my Chinese Empire is gone...

I should be able to play Friday night. As I recall towards the end when I left two of my cities were on the brink of anarchy and were filled with green stinky people.
