Anybody have any idea how these numbers (specifically, the damage numbers) interact with the number of hit points of a person or his/her armor? I imagine everybody has the same armor, but a nice mod would be to model armor according to kit...but anyway...can you tell I want to go home and play?

No, everyone does not have the same armor. I don't have an exact breakdown, but I know Engineers, AT, and Support classes have more armor than the other classes. The trade off is that they can't sprint as far as the other classes. Exactly how that effects the above table.. I dunno. Maybe someone with the game guide can provide that info...

I just unlocked the L85A1, and man it makes a hell of alot of difference than the M16A2. But after reading the link I wonder why the devs would put such a sh*tty weapon into the game (link says its so bad they are retiring it in 2006 to replace it with the G36).

lol i read those and acording to what i read it's a good thing that battlefields 2 isn't that realistic. if it was that gun would jam break or blow up in your face almost every time.
as far as i know in the israeli army soldiers prefer the "shortend m16" ( think they refer to car-15 colt commando) they refer to the m16 as a "broom". the Galil which is basicly a modified AK-47 is a rather heavy rifle. the IDF is planning to replace those rifles with TAR21 Tavor which is a bullpup rifle like L85A1. those bullpup rifles have the advantage of a long barrel and range of an assult rifle while being small and more managable like a crabine/shortened versions.

My first unlock, I chose the L85. I do believe up close, it's got far more stopping power as opposed to the m16 that's standard with the medic kit, I think mostly because of the full-auto function. However, iron-sighting singleshots while prone is far more accurate using the m16.
If anyone's got tips on how to get a bit better accuracy on the L85, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I unlocked the Special Ops weapon and I'm really pleased with it. I can drop to my knee and take someone out at full-auto in bursts fairly easily. The default weapon was just useless at full-auto.

I unlocked the G3 for the Assault kit and it is quite impressive. I sort of miss the accuracy of the M16A2's Burst fire mode but the stopping power of the G3 is quite incredible.
I got the L85A1, such an awesome gun. Its damn near sniper accurate on single shot mode when prone, can pick off large groups of people like nothing from a distance, and up close the full auto mode tears em apart.
I unlocked the L85A1. I am not as enamoured with it as Sinatar. I like the scope, but on anything but single shot mode, the spray is wide. Perhaps it is the lower damage per hit. All I know is I now have to pour even more shots into a toon before it will drop. Right now I am using it only when a particular spawn calls for it. Otherwise, I am still with the original medic firearm.

According to the strategy guide (same place that table came from) body armor stops 33% of damage to the torso. The rest of Vega's info is correct.

I haven't decided what to unlock at this point. Trying to decide between Medic, Spec Ops and Engineer. I love me the auto-shotty.
Now with Xbox Live: Redhwk GWJ
I unlocked the sniper M95, but I need more practice with it. Next will be spec ops or engineer for me.

No love for the PKM, eh? That's my first planned unlock. I loves me the chatter of automatic weapons.
