Can''t say that I''m shocked; ATI is clearly the leader right now. They''ve come a long way. However, by the tone of other articles I''ve read, Nvidia didn''t really want to work with MS again anyway. Or so they say...

Yeah, I think maybe Nvidia wanted out (or Nvidia fans will say that for sure) but to me this is great news for ATI which is my current card in this machine.
Yeah, personally, I swear by ATI and AMD in my rigs. I mean, they''re near the front of the phone book, that''s gotta mean something! Also, better bang for the buck.

I like my GFFX5900Ultra better than my old Radeon.

I had problems with installing an ATI card into a friends brand new rig. Unfortunatly the whole computer was pretty budget and it was only the ATI 9200. It still left me feeling really dissapointed especially since when I had an ATI card years ago the support was AWFUL!
So now my buddy has the Geforce FX 5200 and it runs sweet. No problems on the install.

Wouldn''t hurt to mention you were trying to install it on a Nvidia NForce2 board and the first problems were RAM related
Well, I think it''s not too surprising. The relationship between nVidia and Microsoft has cooled significantly down ever since the Xbox agreement and DirectX8. NV didn''t won''t to unveil all specs of their upcoming chipsets to MS earlier, thus bringing MS and ATI closer together while DX9 was in the development. In addition to that there also was the debate about the pricing of the Xbox GPU where NV didn''t want to agree on a price readjustment.
Which ""older"" Radeon?
Also, Ulairi, can you tell me if ATI cards run Horizons as well as Nvidia? I hope so.
Yup.

As long as none of them pull a VooDoo on us all, it''s all good.(the competition between ATI and NVidia, similar too how much I like AMD not letting Intel solely determine the pace and pricing of processor development). I remember the day when I went to update my VooDoo 3 drivers, and low and behold, no 3Dfx site, no VooDoo, no drivers.
