in our EBGames, we deal with so much hot product that we call the trade in policy "Steal it, Sell it."

now the company itself has entered said arena buy stealing $ from the customers- played WWE Wrestlemania XXI and want to trade it? Tough titty toenails! Trade value = $0.00!

so glad we've sold only a handfull of this game. the fix is coming soon, May 3rd, but what a friggin mess. And, according to THQ, it's not Microsoft, THQ, or Studio Gigante, it was a problem in the duplication process. So much for quality assurrance.

Second fun fact:

Hey, did you reserve something more than 90 days ago and forget about it? Sure it's happened, but guess where that $5 goes? Yup, you guessed it! it is assumed into the deposit, and your money is GONE! Even if, like some of our customers, they are incarcerated, your money is gone.

So, re-think your in-store reservations! If you forget about it- and corporate will hope that you do (much like rebates and warranties)- you are SOL.

How exactly is that stealing, and how exactly is it EB''s fault that the game is borked?

Listen guys, and I apologize to those of you who have to work for such crooks, but there is no substitute for the feeling of pride that comes from giving your money and your business to truly respectable vendors. Do I shop at EB/WalMArt/Best Buy? Of course. Sometimes I have to, but not when I can avoid it or can afford not to.

Hey at least Walmart still lets you do software returns. Though I buy everything I can at CompUSA now, one of the few places around here with an excellent PC game selection.

I''ve busted a couple of game stores for failure to follow California''s pawn regulations. All of the EBs and Gamestops I know of follow proper procedures now.

Meh. I am not a fan of EB at all myself. They have pretty much sucked forever, I worked there myself back in 93-94 and they even sucked back then. I''m not sure though that I have a problem with them hanging onto the deposit if I blow them off for 90 days assuming that they actually hold my pre-order for that long. That is time they could have had that game up on the shelf for a paying customer and IMO that is what the deposit is for.
