dualdiscs won't load into itunes (damn you, springsteen!)

I just got the new Springsteen and tried to load it onto my ipod, and guess what? The celebrated "dualdisc" format that gives you a CD on one side and a DVD on the other can't be identified as a CD by my computer. Anyone know how to get around this? I'm going to be pretty pissed if I find out they did this on purpose.
Aside from a couple of outstanding tracks, the album is less impressive than Ghost of Tom Joad. If you weren't a fan of that album then I'd recommend you just buy the title track off itunes. Incidentally, the DVD side is pretty worthless, and I say that as a huge Boss fan who has his other DVD releases.

I would certainly never do it myself but you could head to the internet and find MP3s of the songs on the album.
Of course I wouldn''t have a clue how to do that, but I believe that a properly worded Google search would yield answers.
My guess would be that this is some sort of DRM technology.
Well first off, never buy Springsteen....
After that you''re allll good

Well, if you''re using iTunes, there''s a nice little Java application... but I think that only works on networks... like my happy little campus one.

Anybody find a way around this?
Looks like there are a bunch of albums using this new format. Just got the latest Ben Folds and it is also dualdisk and my CD ROM drive will not read it.
Guess they really do not want me buying any more CDs. Will have to look for an alternative way to get music for my ipod.....

Return the CDs stating they are defective.
Yeah, I ordered the Special Edition Ben Folds from the website (www.attackedbyplastic.com) specifically because I didn''t want DualDisc format.
Maybe the RIAA has finally found a way to keep us from trading mp3s...
