I pre-ordered the Bow package, so I will definitelybe a ranger, but I don''t know about my secondary. Warrior seems like the natural choice, but it just feels so... boring.

So...you buy the game and there is no monthly fee...

btw...my wife is looking at this game...so she may be joining. Is there a server to be on...or how does that work?

I have a level 4 Mesmer/Elementalist named Jade Redfang.

I am going to go make a Necro named Tabitha Mahr.

I think all told they had 6 different ones. Three were weapons, and three were off-hand caster items. The guildwars site has the full listing.

Since I never saw a shield drop during the beta weekend and the starter shield was pretty crappy, I ordered from bestbuy to get the shield.

My main is Bravo Walker. I played mainly an elem/monk in BWE Paladin, and I liked it a lot. I think I''m going to do some Necro thinger for my main now, maybe ranger or monk or mesmer secondary.

I believe I''ll be getting the Bow. If I don''t end up using it, I could trade to another GWJ.

It''s a lot like Diablo or Diablo II. But without the offline, single-player elements.

Difference is, it follows a little different model.

You pay $50, and you get to play this game online whenever you want.

But look! Want to go to this new realm we just made, and try out this new playable class? That''ll be $10. Hey. It''s only $10. And don''t you want to be able to do everything in the game?

I''d expect some sort of content released every 3 months, at the very least.

Had to run some errands so I thought I''d stop by Bestbuy and pick up my retail copy. They don''t have it at any of their stores yet, so I try Frys - no luck. Had to stop by EBGames to get it. Lost out on the $10 I would of saved from the pre-order. Oh well.

Except instead of being $10 the expansions will be close to the price of the original game if not equal. Additionally, your level is capped at 20 if you don''t buy the expansion, essentially throttling any progress you can make. In essence you''re paying for the start of a game, almost like a demo but presumably much larger.

That being said I loved Guild Wars until WoW came out and still may end up purchasing it. The streaming technology is impressive but I wonder how much ""free"" content of this type we''ll actually see.

For those who are curious GW does support widescreen. Was able to set it to 1920x1200 at the login menu. Can''t progress beyond that though to see the game until midnight. I hate preorders that restrict when you can play a game that you bought at retail. Of course I knew it would be this way when I bought it and still made the decision to purchase, but I don''t have to like it

Unless your name is going to be Ulairi Ranger you need to start coming up with a last name, the game wont allow single names.
