God of War
Monday, March 21st, 2005 - 2:40pm
Anyone picked this up or planning to? I planned to stay away but all the publishers can't seem to get enough of this title. GI gave it a 10 and IGN a 9.8. Gameranking has it at 97% right now.

I''m getting my hands on it, one way or another.

I saw a feature on G4TV (yes, I watch it, it''s not all bad!) about God of War and was pretty impressed with what I saw. It might not be the most in-depth game ever but looks to be a fun dungeon-crawl style game for a highly mature audience. ""Highly mature"" meaning you''re okay playing a game filled with half-naked harpys, gratuitous amounts of bloodshed, and getting it on with 2 hotties in a menage-a-trois.
I''m not kidding about the getting it on either, that''s an actual interactive portion of the game.
Too bad it''s a PS2 exclusive, if there was an XBox/PC version I''d probably consider picking it up.

Damn makes me a bit upset that I just threw away the free demo they sent me.

By videos, it looked like POP2, only with no puzzles and even more overboard ""adult-themed"" excess.

I have a soft spot for rated ""M"" games. I support adult gaming. And this one sounds like it is even executed well... a hidden bonus! My only worry right now is: Uhm... I have this crippling addiction to Disgaea. Maybe this will be the game to break the vicious cycle!
I''m in as soon as I can find a good place to buy it.
Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.
Wow, gamespot.com gives them a Superb-rated review. The puzzles are actually abound.
Too bad it''s a PS2 exclusive.

Hurray for me it''s a PS2 exclusive
. Not sure if I will get it or not though.

I hope this gets the multiplatform treatment, at some point.
"PEACE ON EARTH. GOOD WILL TO MEN. PUBLIC SHELTER. ADMISSION 50¢"
I don''t think Sony usually ports games that they develop to other platforms. I could be wrong but i''m willing to bet this isn''t getting the multi-platfrom treatment any time soon.

It''s published by Sony, isn''t it? ... Just checked, yes it is. No multiplatform for you.
Or me, it seems.
EDIT: Stric beat me too it. Hi, I''m Mr. Redundant, how are you?

And Sony doesn''t port games to the PC much soooo... yeah. Pretty much PS2 only, much like the Mark of Kri was.

I didn''t realize it was developed/published by SCEA... But hot damn. I watched the Gamespot''s video review at home. This game must be helluva fun.

It was actually developed by a division of Incognic (SP?), who made Twisted Metal 1, 2, Black, Black online, Downhill Domination, War of the Monsters, and helped make GT3, 4, Hot Shots Golf 3, 4, and many many more awesome games.

This was the PS2 exclusive game at last years E3 that already had my purchase. The game is stunning and in the form of the great Rygar. Though, I wish it were gracing a more powerful machine.
At this rate it will though... GOW 2 on PS3.

The demo they sent was awesome.
I want it, but I''m still playing several other games. I''d have jumped at it for the Sony published price of $39.99 they had on other games, but looks like this one is debuting at full price.

Gone completely farbot.
Justifiably or not, I have lumped this game into the Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden genre, which is a special category of games that I suck at hard. There''s no way I''m getting this one.

Last night I discovered I apparently hadn''t thrown away the demo for this and gave it a whirl and was pretty under-whelmed. I only played for about 20 minutes but had no desire to go on. I didn''t really notice any of the great things the reviewers are all raving about. I don''t know maybe it was just that it was late and my patience had worn thin, but I really got nothing out of the demo.

Those with Xbox and no PS2 should really give a whirl to Otogi 1 and 2, BTW.

Picked it up at lunch today. Played through the whole first section and killed the Hydra. Amazing boss battle. Very cinematic feel.
Afterwards you get to play a mini game where you pleasure two naked whores then kick them off your boat when you''re done. Good stuff
WAR- Iron Rock - Cigaro/Engineer, Maersk/Witch Hunter
Just saw today that both games are $19.82 at Walmart. I don''t know if the price has been reduced elsewhere as well.

I like my local EB store... I finaly gave in and decided to buy this game, but the sold out! Arh... this start to happen more and more, unless I pre-order they never have copies left.

I was disappointed by large sections of Otogi 1, particularly the kind-of-boss-level with the statue that blasted you if you weren''t behind cover for more than 5 seconds.
Never played the second.
God of War is making me want to run out and buy a PStwo. But $150 is no small purchase, especially since I''ve dropped over $550 in the last two weeks on various other things

Otogi... I could never get past the level where you have to protect the AI floating thingy... frustrating as hell. I don''t know why I needed the thig in the first place because I was able to get where I needed to with out it and just watch it die and fail the mission. Otogi 2 is a big improvement over the first especially with different characters, however it got boring pretty fast... and I went on playing Ninja Gaiden!

Otogi 2 is a pretty solid action game, with a pleasantly refined and non-pandering art style.
