Games You Hate But Everyone Else Likes

Alright time for another goofy thread. What are some games you hate or dislike that everyone else seem to love?

For me the #1 game every hardcore gamer seem to love that I just didn't care for is, Dues Ex. Don't ask me why, but something about that game turned me off.

Another is Ocarina of Time. It was the first Zelda game I didn't enjoy.

Warcraft 3... I hate it but I still play it, because it''s the only thing that would run on my MAC!

Freelancer...the controls killed it for me. It felt less like the space sims of old and more like one of those mouse-driven games bundled with Windows.

Not to change a subject, but I''ve been thinking, is it possible that a bad game could get fixed with a patch? I''m debating whether or not to go back into Master of Orion 3.

Warcraft 3. I hated the way they changed to orcs to poor misunderstood tragic heroes. I hated the graphics. I hated the night elves. I hated the convoluted story.

Elder Scrolls: Arena. An enormous game, an enormous game world, with nothing of interest in it. Millions of people, who are all the same. Thousands of quests that were identical. Millions of dungeons that all looked alike. Arena was the dullest game I''ve ever played. And yet, I finished it. 60 hours of mindless tedium, and by the time I finished I hated that game like I''ve never hated any other. I swore I''d NEVER play another Bethesda game, and I haven''t. I''ve heard the sequels get better, but the torture that was Arena could never be made up for.

I concur with the anti-warcraft 3 sentiment. It''s too complicated for an RTS, too shallow for a RPG. I like my RTS''s pretty, quick, and mind-numbingly simple. Ahh, how I long for C&C Generals to run on a decent system like Battle.net!

Doom - Just average for me even in it''s heyday

Thief series - Yawn! I don''t know I just don''t like too much stealth in my games.

Total War series - Waaaay too many units for my tiny brain to cope with at the same time.

Warcraft 3, too. And Grand Theft Auto, I did not like it. Kind of pointless to me.

In the opposite side, we should make a thread asking which games you love, and everyone else hates. Because I loved playing ""Rebellion"", that ol'' spreadsheet simulation.

Totally agree on GTA 3. I just didn''t like that game at all.

It''s Deus Ex, you must have been playing the wrong game, that''s why you hated it!

For me it was Unreal Tournament. Just couldn''t get into it. Also Half-Life and Counterstrike, meh.

I never really got into Morrowind. The combat was just too lame. I never liked Operation:Flashpoint either. Empire Earth would be another miss for me.

Deus Ex is one. Sorry I couldnt get past the statue of liberty level that everyone says is the worst level in the game.

The big one is NWN. Terrible level design, monster layout and quest design.

System Shock 2 was great for a half hour. Then I wanted to just skip to the you know who part beginning with an ""S""

Baldur''s Gate 2 I couldnt play past 40 minutes. I had a tough time getting out of the first coupla rooms in the prison.

Any Mario game except for Golf and RPG. Those are games I get more entertainment watching ithers play.

I will not touch GTA3 or Vice City unless to buy the VC soundtrack. I respect them but I dont like games that glorify delinquency.

Counter-Strike - I think I was on too many Lans and got the impression that it is the kiddie/l33t h4x0r/idiots FPS. I am pretty sure there are some really nice chaps out there playing this game. Sadly they were never on a server/LAN when I was. Additionally I hate sitting around in a corner in a multiplayer FPS.
Counter Strike mottos: ""Look I''ve got this really big gun, but I''m going to hide in a corner and kill you with a headshot instead of coming right at you both guns blazing like a real opponent"" or ""I don''t care how long we camp, I''ve got a flatrate"". Yeah this is over the top, but that''s how I experienced it .

No hay banda!

Have to agree with Elysium on Operation Flashpoint. Fortunately one of my mates bought it first, so I got to laugh at the poor graphics and crap netcode!

Below a list of games that are being seen as widely popular, but failed to excite me at all. (I don''t ''hate'' them though.)

Resident Evil series, Everquest (and basically every other MMORPG I got to check out), DoA series, Freelancer (for the reasons listed here, MDK

The big stinker for me is Max Payne. I hate almost everything about that game. Or maybe it''s just Max''s ""I-don''t-know-how-that-got-in-there-but-I''m-sure-as-hell-gonna-try-to-push-it-out"" expression. Either way, it irritates me to no end. In bullet-time no less.

You aren''t kidding Koesj, your taste is very bad and you are a horrible monster. Not liking PT? What are they putting in the water over there? And you were such a nice guy up until that point.

Another game I don''t like at all that everyone else loves is any Street Fighter game. Same for Capcom vs Marvel vs Mario vs Ecco the Dolphin. Metal Gear Solid was boring for me, though everyone agrees 2 was sh*t.

Man Dark Cloud 1 &2 ... it was sooo monotonous. Everyone goes on and on about how free form and great it is .. but it was a linear affair with an annoying thirst and repair thingy built into the game.

Oh! and what''s so great about Dungeon Seige? I admit it has some great ideas ... but as a game it''s horrible! Basically you just get led down different ""colored"" hallways and kill things the same exact way only with different colors ... I didn''t think this game was any different from Vampire: The Masquerade from Activision.
