Are you really a hardcore gamer? :)
I'm trying this on another forum .. but for some reason I think this would work out great in this forum ... if you allow.
This whole thing rattled in my head when Bill over @ Gone Gold did that whole best gaming moment challenge (even tho I think my Wing commander 3 should've placed
) and I started thinking of ALL the games I've played over the years. So here goes ... and if you think it's stupid .. please be gentle .. I'm new here
I haven't really thought this one out, and it's prolly already been done a zillion times ... but hey! Look at my profile I've only posted 3 times!
I keep seeing and hearing about people who thing they're hardcore this and hardcore that ... MY definition of hardcore also includes a knowledge of the OG old school games that started this whole hobby/lifestyle/obsession/addiction that brings us together.
So anybody wanna join me in a kind of "I spy" kind of game here where each of us tries to name an old school game and the next tries to name another and let's see who runs out of names first. Now ... of course this is gonna work on some kind of honor system so you don't cheat and surf the net for games. Once again .. I haven't really thought this out BUT mebbe some of you's can help me make this work. I'm kinda curious to see if'n I know as much as I think i know.
If you think a game is a fake and want to challenge the poster ... the challengee has to at least try to explain the premise of the game ... or if you can't remember the exact title give a good description of the system and the gameplay. Mebbe the rest of us can try to remember it for you. Any system work even arcade coin-ops.
So without further ado I'll start with ...

Evolution
Now I know someone is going to question me on this so here goes:
Its a shooter like berzerk. You start off as an amoeba and run around gobbling up proteins? I believe. That part is like pac man without walls as you are chased around until you can gobble the pellets. I forget what the next stage is but the stage after that is like space invader type shooter where you try and shoot coconut throwing monkeys that are clinging to trees. The next part is the Berzerk part as you are a human running around with a laser shooting robots. When that stage is over you are rewarded with a mushroom cloud screen and the amoeba stage starts over.

I only played this arcade in one place. It was a Showbiz Pizza when I was but a child. The only place I''ve played it since may or may not have been with MAME.
Zookeeper. It was sort of like Mario but you ran around and did bricklaying rather than brick demolishing. It was also terribly addicting.
