My Pick: San Diego to cover and win. I'll take the under.
Minnesota at Green Bay (-6 1/2)
O/U 50
My Pick: Minnesota to cover, but lose. I'll take the over.
Denver at Indianapolis (-10)
O/U 56

I have no idea how this over-under point line/spread thing works. That said, i''m taking Seattle (barely), San Diego, Green Bay and Indianapolis, although I have a sneaking suspicion that one of the slam dunks (NY-SD and DEN-INDY) will have a surprise for us all.

This should be some great football this weekend! I''m sure there will be an upset, but I''ll be damned if I know where it''s going to happen. I think Minnesota might eke it out, or (though it pains me to say it) the Seahawks might choke again.

Rams, Chargers, Packers and Colts. No underdog will cover the point spread except for the Rams who will win. Vikings and Jets absolutely fell into the playoffs and will show it this weekend. I think that the Rams/Seahawks matchup will be the most closely contested, but I doubt that the Seahawks will be able to stop the pass, especially in the fourth quarter. I would also go with the under on all of them except the charger game. They can flat out score points and the Jets haven''t exactly been shutting folks down recently.

I dont care, my Packers had just better win.
St.Louis barely pulled out a win over the Jets at home. Bulger will fold on the road and Seattle will win, even though as a team they don''t really deserve to be in the playoffs. But then, neither does St.Louis
San Diego will trounce the Jets since Pennington still isn''t 100%
Anyone catch Randy Moss saying he doesn''t think Mike Tice is the right coach for the Vikings? Fun! Green Bay over Minnesota thanks to home field advantage.
Indy is going to pick Denver apart but I think if there''s an upset, it might be here.
Looking forward to watching the games on my brand spanky new HDTV enabled cable box!

I hate you, Certis. Nothing new there but I have a new reason. All I get are regular CBS and Fox and such. The only HD football I get to see is when ESPN has the game as Charter cable (NE Connecticut) only has ESPN HD, Discover and an NBC affiliate.
Enjoy your HD games, techno-boy.

The more I think about it, the more I think that the Chargers are going to struggle this afternoon. Just given Marty Schottenheimer''s playoff record. He is 5-11 in the playoffs. Two of those wins were games where Joe Montana absolutely willed an inferior squad to victory. Two times Marty has secured home field advantage throughout the playoffs, once each with the Chiefs and the Browns. Both times losing to the Broncos. I live in San Diego and fear that my neighbors'' hopes and dreams will smashed by the coach who can''t win the big one.

Dear Lord. Eric Barton is the goat of all goats. This game was over until Barton decides to give Brees a forearm shiver after a hopeless chuck lands on the endzone turf. Jets fans, I feel for ya.

0 - 2 so far. Fear my touch of death!!

1-1 so far, Indy takes Denver by 14+, Green Bay squeaks by Minneapolis (may be too close - Minneapolis may squeak by GB, but I will have to go with Fa-vre on this one)

I thought Holmgren coached a very conservitive game.. he had success even bringing a 5th person on the pass rush...but for most of the game opted to play only rushing the 4 Dlinemen. It''s been shown that you cannot allow Bulger to get into any sort of rythem.
And it was ironic that like the Eagles the very thing that plauged Seattle all year (WR''s dropping the ball) really hurt them in that playoff game.
It seems like the playoffs will always magnify a teams weak spots.

1-1 again. I actually expected the game to be closer at Green Bay. I think Philly will dismantle Minnesota especially without Moss and Indy beats NE by 10 next week. Pittsburgh beats the Jets by 7+ and the Atlanta-St. Louis Game is a shootout with Atlanta winning.

2-2. The two teams that backed into the playoffs won their games, whodathunkit?

I think the Jets can beat the Steelers... in fact it wouldnt suprise me one bit if that was this weekends upset.
I can''t see the Colts beating the Patriots.. they just seem to always play subpar games against the Pats.. I think the Pats will slow the game down to a snails pace.. they''ll play ugly and frustrate the Colts on both sides of the ball..
The field will be in crappy shape whatever the weather you can bet on that... and besides Brady can''t fumble in Foxboro.. its simply a tuck and they get the ball right back.
I got to believe the Eagles will find a way to beat the Vikings.. Even without TO the Eagles can still play small ball they way they did all the other years and beat most teams in the most mind numbingly boring way possible.
I think Andy Reid will let McNabb finally go nuts in the playoff as even he realizes that this is it... its either this year or never.
Oh and if the Eagles do make in to the SB theres no question that TO will play...its just how healthy will he be.
I like Atlanta over St. Louis.. I dont think St. Louis has the right defense or mentality to stop the Falcons enough to outscore them. And I think Atlanta will watch the tapes and blitz like mad.

Colts take it all, Steelers find out they are not as good as everyone thinks, and Eagles won''t make it to the dance without TO.
Sorry I am getting in on this late.

I''d never bet on the Eagles.. its painful enough watching them with no money on the line.
You guys will regret it if the Eagles make the SB

I don''t care if the Eagles make it, they deserve to after failing so many times. Winning it though, I will reserve that for my boy Peyton.

I kinda feel bad for Peyton Manning.. simply because the media elevates that entire family to some holy platform much like Favre I take great pleasure in watching them ultimately fail.
Not because I dont like him but because its amusing then to watch the so called experts spin away..
I mean for a guy that up to now still has a losing record in the playoffs you''d think that he''s sitting on 4 SB rings.
Dont even get me started on his kid brother.. After the Eagles game when he completed like 4 passes and made some really awful throws all you kept hearing about was how great he''s going to be and how obvious it was. Hello? are they watching the same guy I am?
I think Peyton Manning is an awesome QB.. he''s a throwback to the old style when you could have your QB make the entire decision from the line simply based on his reads.
I just think that investing your entire payroll in the offense is risky... when its been shown that balanced teams of non superstars gets it done.
Thats why I think that Tom Brady is still a better QB than Manning.. simply because he wins and he puts up decent numbers with far less offensive talents.
And....he makes big time plays in clutch situations.

Eli will be better than 90% of the QBs in the NFL right now. I wouldn''t judge him just yet.
I am sure people love to watch Peyton fail, it is normal actually. I love seeing TO and Moss fail because they are such jerks. Heck, I have hated Barry Bonds for years, but damn, he is the best ever and I will admit it. (with or without steroids)
Brady has had a more complete team behind him for a while now but I dont'' think he is better overall. He has played better in the big games though, no doubting that. Hopefully, the Colts putting a majority of their salary cap money into offense won''t keep stopping them.
