Official \"Name that movie!\" Picture Thread
Friday, January 7th, 2005 - 6:24pm
It's Friday, there's an hour left to go and it feels like my eyelids have developed a hazy crust from staring blankly at the monitor all day. The way this works: post a scene/person from an obscure movie (ie. no "Rambo") and let's try and guess.
I'll start with a kind of creepy one:

Let the games begin!

I going to guess Freaks from 1932(?)
We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea.
Freaks?? Carnival of Freaks?

Freaks, 1932
Next! An easy one.
[edit]Doh, missed the ""obscure"" limitation.
Alrighty, try this one then.
My ongoing D&D campaign, Gaald, Certis and Trachalio playing
Princess Bride. Easy!

Wrong! Eraserhead
David Lynch creeps me out, but I love his stuff.

Are those the Cliffs of Insanity? (anybody want a peanut?)

Freaks? I thought it was Bea Arthur in a Golden Girls reunion movie.

That is indeed a very young Antonio Banderas... I was hoping to find a more iconic screen from the movie, but that was the best I could do. One of my all time favorites, and sadly unavailable on DVD.

Wow, I can usually see a second of a movie and tell you the name of it, but I have not seen any of those. The only one I got was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
From a very famous director. It''s pretty much the goriest movie ever made, but still funny and campy as hell. (start giving hints guys, some of those are hard)
By the way Hoochie.. is yours ""Near Dark"" (Vampire Movie) ?

Nice, I''ve always thought Braindead was among the purest of the genre. Is that Manos: Hands of Fate, Hubbinsd?
Edit: Joes apt. Pred?
All this science I don't understand. It's just my job five days a week.
Yeah, I think Awkward got yours Pred... that''s the one where the guy from Sliders has the apartment with the freak roaches... pretty weird, but it had its moments.
