Bought a GameCube

For $89.99 Canadian. I'm about to boot up a game, but I can't decide which one. Eternal Darkness, The Wind Waker, or Metroid Prime 1?
I'm the kind of person who doesn't like to play more than one game at once, so whichever one I pick is getting finished before I start the others.
Hmmmm...

Huh, tough choice since each of them has replay value in its own way. Eternal Darkness has to be completed thrice to see the ultimate ending, Wind Waker and Metroid Prime have enough secrets to be found. I love Wind Waker (and Eternal Darkness), but Prime may be your first choice since it the challenge it offers would be the option to beat it at a higher difficulty level, find more extras and yet finishing it as fast as possible. Eternal Darkness is a great game though to be played late at night.
Play Eternal Darkness first. After you beat those three games buy these and play them.

I tried Eternal Darkness first, but decided to go with Metroid Prime instead. Eternal Darkness seemed to be slow overall, and I don''t have much patience with Resident Evil-style camera angles. I have a GC for the next few days and have had it over the past month. I want to at least finish Metroid before my cousin takes it back to his dorm. Actually, I''ve considered offering him some cheddar to just let me keep it. It''s been that fun having it around.

I find it ironic anytime a healthy vaccinated person bitches about science...on the internet. - MaverickDago
Eternal Darkness is one of the best game experiences I''ve ever had. And I hate the Resident Evil games. The magic system and Lovecraft feel of the game is excellent.
Edwin, did you just list every game put out on the Cube? Some of those are certainly missable.

Custom Robo rocks!

No, I just put my personal favorites. Notice no sports games? Wave Race isn''t on there either. A few other too.

Wow. Gotta respect a man who lists almost 50 titles as ""personal favorites"". Edwin the list master!
So um ... got any pr0n recos?

Fun sports or not, Mario Power Tennis and Sega Soccer Slam certainly do look like sports games to me. Also, Mario Golf rocks.
I also wouldn''t bother with the multiplayer games if you don''t have any other people around to play them with. I love SSBM, Double Dash, and the Mario Party games, but they are weak with just the computer to play against. With other humans playing, they well and truly rock. You don''t often get to see a grown man calling another ""Bitch!"" because he used a cartoon monkey to inflate a colorful balloon more quickly.

I hated Eternal Darkness at first too. I hate all those ""Horror"" games.
But... Give it a couple of chapters. Maybe use a walkthrough if you get stuck for too long. But it''s definitely worth finishing at least once
After that, if you got a buddy, play TimeSplitters 2. It''s a fun game.

Seconded!

The cube games I''ve played.
Zelda: The best of them. Play it, now.
Eternal Darkness: My favorite horror game until I started playing Fatal Frame 2 on Xbox. ED is a must play nonetheless.
Luigi''s Mansion: LOVED it. Stop laughing, it''s a great little game, very original and fun. It''s short though, you can beat it in a rental.
Starfox Adventures: LOVED that one too. I''m a bitch for action/adventure games and this is a great one. A lot of diversity in the gameplay and cool characters. I miss prince Tricky!
Super Mario Sunshine: Great platformer, I''ve yet to finish it though.
Mario Kart: Awesome with buddies. If you''re going to play it solo then don''t bother.
Metroid Prime: Meh. Can''t get into this one. Too much scanning, sh*tty controls. I didn''t give up yet though, I''ll try it again someday!
Mario Party: Awesome fun with buddies.
Xbox Live: MrGreen

Wii: 4859 2... oh f*ck it.
If you''re a fan of RPG games, pick up Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos. Mega Man Command Mission X is a good lite RPG too.

I''ve decided to start Metroid and MAN OH MAN is it fun. Took about 15 minutes to get used to the controls, I find the scanning to be fun, (I love stupid atmosphere stuff like that,) and it''s just a total head-trip to see how well they transferred the sidescroller gameplay. Best conversion since Mario 64, if not a better one than that. WOW, if that''s the only game I like on the Cube, I''ll consider it money well spent.
Next up to buy: Waverace, Starfox and Viewtiful Joe.

The only games I own for my cube are Metroid 1 and 2, and I consider it definitely worth owning a cube for.
I rented ED and Wind Waker too, both very good.

The woman got Mario Sunshine for Christmas, as well as Resident Evil 0. She''s frustrated with the RE0 and I''m loving Sunshine.
Now if only I could find Eternal Darkness somewhere.
If we allow these people to marry, they'll be dancing in the streets, making everyone gay and poking pee-pees together. Do you really want that!? We need to stop this gay madness before it destroys us all! - baggachipz
My wife and I just bought Donkey Konga. Seems to be quite fun so far. She''s been banging the bongos through a Hungarian Dance song for like 20 minutes. We''ll see how long the fun lasts but its a neat little toy in the meantime.
