A change to the GWJ front page...

At the top of the GWJ front page is a list of the latest active forum topics. The list shows six topics at any given time. It's an immensely useful tool, and one for which I am most grateful, but I often feel that it should include more than six topics. Maybe ten? I think that including a few more topics in the list would greatly enhance the utility of this nifty feature.
Is such a change possible? Is such a change desirable in the eyes of others?

I think the problem with that is it''d throw the main page''s story too far down the page. Other than that, you''re right it would be nice.

FWIW, last night I logged on and the top 4 of the 6 articles were from the MMORPG forum with WOW in front of them. I''m sure it''s a great game and all - but it didn''t draw me into the forums the same as seeing an article entitled, ""Check out these knockers (NSFW)"".
I guess what I''m trying to get at is: Can we filter out forums? I never read the Politics or MMORPG forums because I can''t stand your capitalist, yankee views and your non-stop taunts about how much better WoW is that my sucky EQ game that I stopped playing 3 weeks ago.
Anything with a gamepad attached, or boobs however I''d love to see splashed all over the main page.

To Lobo, I don''t think that''s a good idea for several reasons. The front page is for the articles, if you want to know everything that''s happening in the forums, go to the forums and click on ""view unread posts"" or better yet subscribe to the forums RSS feed. It''s been brought up before, and increasing it to 10 will simply leave some people going ""what about 15? or can''t the front page just be the latest forum posts?"" What about people that don''t care about the forums? What about people who only want the GameCalendar? Should the top half of the page be the latest games instead? The front page has a little taste of everything on the site to let people know what we have on the site, but that''s all. The point of the front page is the articles. v2.0 will be different in alot of areas, but this particular feature is not likely to change in the next version.
To gotham, you can''t do that now. And in v2.0 you can bookmark one page (or RSS feed) for any combination of any of the forums you like. So you''ll be taken care of in v2.0.

The color scheme here is one of the easiest on the eyes I''ve seen. I hope you don''t change it drastically.
