It hurt to hear "Bill & Ted's Excellent Journey" (2:25) because no such film exists!

I cringed as I was saying it, because I reallized I biffed it, but in radio sometimes it's better to just barrel on through rather than going back and correcting yourself.

This is also good advice for life.
Once you realize how much you can get away with if you act like you meant to do it, the world becomes your oyster.
Or in my case your taco plate, because I can't stand shellfish.

Pretty sure his name is spelled Allen.

How dare you try and drive a wedge between me and my Allain.

I completely stopped doing Kickstarter in 2013, but for a fellow GWJer, I dropped a fiver into the tip jar for Team Comedy. Good luck, JR!

Hey now. You will speak to Cartis with the respect he deserves.

I really need to learn to write more better.
That question sounded so different I my head.
I was trying to ask a question in my own Swedish chef kind of way about the genre of adventure games and movies, not the mechanics of movies vs games.
I think after Indiana Indiana Jones no movie has made a better adventure experience than the worlds of Nathan drake and Lara croft.
I think I have to start doing that thing where I read what I have written out loud.

Decided to give Ori a try. It is absolutely stunning.
I thought that was Serkis.

To one of the comments on gaps in ones gaming history I have not played any Mario game with the exception of Donkey Kong in an arcade.

You mean Donkey Khan.

I believe Garrcia is the winner. Shoon, or Shown, or however you spell his name, asked whether anyone had never jumped as Super Mario. Jumping as Jump Man does not count.
Congrats Garrcia, now go play Super Mario, you uncultured slob.

I have never played a Zelda game for more than a few minutes.
Or Mega Man.
Or Metroid.
I'm not sure what I'm doing here, actually. I think people just keep me around to see what crazy crap I'll say.

Although I'm clearly joking around with Garrcia, I do think it's worth playing some of those old games. Some of them are even better suited to adults than kids. The original Zelda, for instance, requires a lot of patience (hand drawn maps for the win! In-game map features are for suckers!)

Please do. It is wonderful. It's balls hard at some points, but that's part of the charm.

I cringed as well, but thanks for reminding me I need to rewatch these movies.
I don't do Kickstarters, ever, but I'm sorely tempted to throw some money in for team drama. JR is a known quantity after all.

It's even worse than that for me - I haven't been in contact with any Nintendo games when I was a kid. Closest I got was Donkey Kong Jr I think on an LCD screen, as my neighbour had it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...(Panorama)_-_Game%26Watch_-_Nintendo.jpg <- I think that's the one. And ah, so that's what a game-and-watch refers to, I had heard the term a number of times on podcasts (I've listened to several a week for eight years now).
Now I can't get into them at all. Whenever I play Mario, I can't stand the sluggishness of the controls. There must be some kind of irony in all this after all the crap that LittleBigPlanet received for its moon-physics driven platforming, but I'm finding that for me, Mario sits uncomfortably between Rayman Legends and LBP, with Mario getting into motion like the artificially slowed-down electric engine of a Prius. There's the Torque of a Lamborghini hidden in there somewhere, but unlike with the Prius, I can't quite see why it has to remain hidden.
Of all the Nintendo games I tried over the years, I've liked Wii Sports the best, but even there my love for it waned over the weekend, utterly lacking as it is in gameplay depth. The core gameplay mechanics have little on a game like Sports Champions, even if that latter game utterly lacks in presentation.
I'm actually disappointed - on paper there are so many things I should love about Nintendo, but and my kid now being almost 7 it would be perfect. But in practice, I can't get into it. I am therefore eternally grateful therefore that games like Rayman Legends exist. Ori looks amazing too, but no co-op is a shame. Maybe one day I get an opportunity to try Mario Galaxy though, that looks like I could like it.

A thought occurred as you answering the question regarding storytelling in video games and then used Breaking Bad as an example. Maybe they could've written different stories in which the meth was different colors in each one? Blue, red or green?
I'll see myself out.
What if they offered the viewer the choice of the red meth versus the blue meth?
And what if the viewer's choice became some sort of awful shorthand on Reddit?
Wait. I'm getting something.
... Solas?
Words... are a big deal.

Other than possibly a tiny bit at a friend's house when I was under 10, I've never played Mario either.
It annoys me when people go on about platformers, Mario, and 'those experiences we all had as kids,' because it's simply not true. There isn't a singular childhood gaming experience, and other people come to gaming later in life.
