So I just finished Halo 2...*SPOILERS*

..and what the hell kind of ending is that! You know what this reminds me of? Anyone here watch Star Trek:TNG back in the day? Remember the season finale where The Enterprise and Locutus of Borg have their standoff and at the very end of the episode Locutus says something like "Resistance is Futile" and Riker responds "Fire." after a dramatic pause? This is the same feeling.
Geekiest analogy ever.

Lol.. nice Fletcher
I say it has more of an Empire Strikes Back vibe to it, with less Han Solo''s being frozen in carbonite.
Seriously though, I''m not completely into the Halo story, really it''s mostly about the Multiplayer with me. After all, we are all the Master Chief.
Speaking of Master Chief''s name, what the hell kind of name is that.

Actually, in multi you''re all just guys in the Spartan armour, aren''t you? Not actually the MC himself.
The story of Halo 2 was alright. The more I see non-intrusive storytelling done well, the less I end up liking cutscenes. Seriously, I think that the voice acting was at least half of the quality of H2''s storyline; if it had been merely alright, I think the game would have been pretty forgettable. Then again, Halo 1 didn''t have the world''s most amazing story either.
One of the nice things about Half-Life style storytelling is that you can have plot points packed in as tightly as, say, a book, without ever really stopping gameplay. They can both happen at once; not every plot point has to be delivered through dialogue.
I think I would have been more dismayed at the ending if I hadn''t known that it would be a let-down. As it was, I found myself constantly going ''Oh my God that had better not be the ending!'' at every turn. So when I finally got there, it was almost a relief. If Bungie had just added in an hour, maybe two, and finished off the story, H2''s singleplayer would have been just stellar.
[edit] - Now THERE is an ADD-style post.
