Love, love, love that you guys are bringing the forum into the podcast more. Thanks to GameGuru for that nudge.

Re: Wearable tech - I've got a Basis Peak preordered, and I'm hoping the awesome new gadgetry will make up for the relatively small userbase. If they can get a functional API that'll let their info be imported to other sites, I'll be ecstatic.

Agreed, kudos to the idea - loved hearing thoughts about the day-to-day here.

Two comments on this week's CC:

1. After uninstalling WoW for the umpteenth time, here I sit in Azeroth waiting to see Draenor before it became Outlands. HOW, how does it do this to me?

2. Screw you, Capra Demon! Though my "drop-this-game-now" moment with Dark Souls was on the Four Kings. Tried it thrice after making it all the way through the level to them and then quickly decided to never play it again. Screw you more, Four Kings!

That was almost my reaction when I fought the Maneater in Demon's Souls. I did not quit, however, and eventually beat the game. And then Dark Souls was announced, and my first thought was: "No thanks."

Ethan Carter sounds interesting. Too bad it also sounds like my PC can't handle it.

So when the Oculus goes mass-market, I'll need to upgrade my computer. That's gonna be an expensive month.

YEAAAAAAAAAAH I got in the podcast. That was a huge surprise as I was driving home.

I just need my donation tag now and a billion more posts...

I remember that moment 10 years ago that I gently caressed Sean "Elysium" Sands in my arms. It was beautiful.

Also, you all should have posted this podcast before the wedding. The branding idea was genius. Genius I say!

The conversation about wearable tech and peeing had me laughing like a fool while driving today. Seriously.

I, also, have rage quit Hearthstone. Repeatedly. However, my walk away moment from it was more from resignation as I realized I'd never play it enough to get the cards I needed to be competitive. Plus, even the best players have win rates of 55ish%, which means at your best you are barely above .500.

First congrats to Pyroman, and an an advice, you should play, when you have time after all the post wedding duties, Crash Landings, is a survival map/modpack for minecraft and is really good. I've haven't touched Minecraft since years ago, and I played 20 hours or more to that mod, really good, sometimes is scary and is very hard.

There are tons of videos about it in youtube, wich brings me to the second point, and is that on these days you don't need to go to a library to learn how to play to a simulator, those were the 80s (or the 70s on rabbit's case ) these days you can go to youtube and you'll find a lot of tutorials about any game.

I don't have any specific for a flight sim, and I've haven't even search for any but I bet there are hunderds of them, If it wasn't for Scott Manley I've never had reached Mars or the Moon in Kerbal, so give it a try.

Awesome podcast as always

Regarding quality of discussion in forums - yeah definitely THE reason i lurk here.

I don't know what secret sauce you're feeding the inhabitants but i have not frequented any other gaming forum where people are actually receptive to opinions divergent to their own, and where every other comment does not comprise some version of 'buy a PS4/XBOX/PC you worthless noob'.

Maybe it's the demographic - i assume it's a few years older than the average gaming forum.

It's true. I actually died back in 1877, but came back a hundred years later because I heard Pong was Ace-High.

I was doing my daily walk in the mall because of the rain and was laughing out loud in the middle of the mall. I'm sure everyone thought I was a crazy person. (Which I probably am, but still...)

The TF2 thread was robbed!

Ha! I really liked the focus on what was happening in the forums (although I wish in retrospect my post hadn't sounded quite so hostile!) That said, a few weeks on and I still don't like the new Steam store, and find myself exploring it less and less. I already have more games than I can get around to, and don't need help finding stuff I want to buy and play. Obviously if other people like it that's well and good. In an ideal world we'd be able to customise the layout much more ... at the moment it seems to throw in my face all the things I'm not interested in and makes it hard to find what I do (new releases, not necessarily 'popular' new releases).

Hey, I got a mention, minor internet celebrity stardom is mine! I did end up getting past that damn Capra Demon, but I never did finish up Dark Souls. One day I might get around to it, but man that game makes you work to love it.

Agreed. Having two-thirds of the episode dedicated to forum threads was a nice change of pace and I hope you guys do it again in the future.

I would also like to add my voice to rabbit's chorus on the importance of moderation of forums and being grateful for it here at GWJ. I lurk at a few larger forum websites and there are subsets where the conversations are comfortable but GWJ is pretty much the only place I post these days.

Finally, I thought for sure Elysium was going to mention 'The World Ends with You' for the done with this game topic because of the RPG discussion that was going on.

Oh, and incidentally, the most recent "Done With You" moment I had in a game that comes to mind was actually Grimrock 1 - I hit a puzzle that, even with an FAQ, I was flubbing repeatedly due to my lack of coordination or timing. After about 5 times running through it and failing, I moved on to something else.

Steam curators. I honestly have not the interest to wade through them to find if there is a good one for me out there. I have no idea how to find a good one without spending a ton of time looking at what has been said about the games in my library. either.

I dropped that game too, even though everything about it screamed "YOU WILL ENJOY THIS, HARPO!" I just don't like to have to be twitchy and reflex orienated in my party based RPGs...

(Dragon Age II being the exception.)

This.

I'm going to continue on my current path of searching steam sales for things that cost less than two dollars and then writing about them.

I am extremely disappointed we are almost through with the first page of GWJCC 420 and no one--not one person--has made a pot joke.

Holy crap. We've made 420 of these things?!

Ah crap, I noticed, then forgot to mention it.

The site has truly grown like a weed, hasn't it?

Hells yes. This, so much this. Hilarious! Kudos to Elysium, don't let them get in your head

Yeah, that whole section was ridiculously funny. I'm with Elysium, that sh*t is weird.

+1, I really enjoyed hearing the GWJ crew comment on forum threads. Would love to see that worked in similar to emails at the end of the show.

I've been doing the wearable tech things for decades.

Of course , that was back when we call them "watches."

Another 560 Ti in the house! It is indeed baller at 1080p, though I made sure to get one with 2 GB vram.
But yes, when I get me a sweet Oculus Rift, I'm upgrading.
