COSMOS/Thottbot question

Is there any way to ONLY use Thottbot. I want my profile available but really not looking to use any of the Cosmos options. I know i need it installed but is there a way to turn off absolutely everything and just report back to thottbot?
Yes, you can disable all the toolbars and just use it for profile reporting.

You can also select ""thottbot only"" from the dropdown in the cosmos config utility (not in WoW UI). Run Cosmos.exe, click ""configure"", select cosmos distribution ""Thottbot only"".
That should be what you want.

You should really take a took at some of the extra toolbars. I really didn''t think I''d want all that extra crap on my screen either, but I installed it just to see what it did. After I started picking up all kinds of skills, I loved having extra places to put them so they''re available all the time and I don''t have to switch through the default shift-1, shift-2, shift-3 to get to them. They''re not hotkeyed like the main toolbar, but atleast they''re there and I click them. I put the ones I might need in a hurry on the hotkeyed toolbar and the ones that I used all the time, but I can just click on the other toolbars.

Yes, I used the extra toolbar that sits right about the original, it''s a lifesaver. When I hit lvl 20 I got a ton of new spells too so I began using the extra ""left"" bar that has 5-6 slots for space. It''s working well for me, doesn''t feel too crowded.
CTmods toolbars do correspond to the shift-# but I like and use thottbot so use cosmos to update it.

How do you enable the thootbot help to show you where quest NPC''s are etc...

You have to alt-tab out for that and use the website, it has the maps.

There''s no actual network traffic between the WoW UI and thottbot website. That kind of activity is not possible with the UI mod toolkit. They did not expose that functionality to ensure the security of the clients. That way it''s not possible for any UI mod to send unauthorized information. Of course, the way thottbott works, it could collect anything and YOU press the button to upload the info in one shot. (This is done outside of the WoW client program as a separate executable: Cosmos.exe) We assume they are trustworthy
No big deal though, there is also no way to directly access (or indirectly really) the client filesystem, so people can''t get at cached files, passwords, etc. It''s a fairly safe sandbox.

I have the thotbot collection enabled, and I get the message that the profile will be uploaded...and something gets uploaded, but my profiles never show up. It''s the strangest thing. Which distribution is everyone using? I just switched over to the alpha to see if that would fix it, but it doesn''t seem to have made a difference.

Mine finally updated too, but it says it''s 2+ days old! It took at least a day or two to update, so looks like there''s a delay.
Mine updated but it''s still old. I''m 1500 from 25 and it now has me at 22 (instead of 20).

Yeah, mine is also behind. I''m lvl 20 now, but the profile still shows me as lvl 16.

Hmm, mine is getting there but for whatever reason it''s not listing me in the guild anymore. Ah well, nothing another 24 hours won''t fix I''m sure.

In the most recent cosmos update it appears (at least on my system) that the uploading to thottbot isn''t available.

Yes. It was fixed last night. You need to download and install the beta version again. It doesn''t appear to want to patch itself.
