Giambi admits to using the 'roids.

Williams declines deal with the NFL.

Feel free to discuss.

EDIT - Bonds admits to using a cream and clear substance. No wonder he acts like such a dick.

The way I see the Giambi issue...he hit two home runs off Pedro in Game 7 of the ALCS last year. They should take those runs away (at least) and we would have been in the World Series 2 years in a row.

yea, I''m greedy.

Now Bonds admits to taking what he thought was Flaxseed oil but turned out to be roids? Come on.

It definately throws a wrinkle on many a stat. Especially if half of the players are using as some people are saying.

Baseball is going to have to crack down, that is certain.

The roblem in baseball is the player union is so strong that they have refused any sort of drug testing so far. We will see but until baseball cleans it act up I doubt I will be a real fan even when my city got a new team.

Yeah, cause Pedro''s crappy pitching had nothing to do with it.

Well, the stuff was distributed in bottles labelled flaxseed oil... but yeah, I think he knew. How could he not? Take a look at him in 1996, then look at him in 2000, totally different.

EDIT: This page kinda shows it, look at that 93 picture, then look at the more recent. Almost looks like a different person. http://www.zeprock.com/BondsGallery.html

I heard someone on the news yesterday describe the Giambi revelation as ""shocking.""

...

Shocking? Really? Who here is honestly shocked by this? I mean, this is only a confirmation of what people have suspected (or been convinced of) for years. It certainly isn''t of the caliber of the Black Sox scandal or anything.

When Bonds gets to the magic number of 755 home runs and then beats Hank Aaron''s HR record it will be a sad sad day for MLB. As if it weren''t bad enough that he is a total prick, now he''s a juiced up total prick. Bonds, Sosa, Boone, Giambi, all these guys are making a mockerty of what used to be America''s pastime. I as a fan feel cheated by these types of guys by beating records they never would have touched had it not been for roids.

Ok, Steroids are only part of the increase in home runs:

#1. The owners moved in all the fences AND looked away when they needed the home run ball to save their collective arses.

#2. The pitching is soo watered down that the 3rd starter on most teams should be in AAA.

#3. Weight training regiments and health consciencness has increased drastically in the past 20 years for ball players.

#4. Then ''Roids

I have a Bonds and Sosa Rookie card.. the difference in these two men are striking.. just the neck and thigh size differences are amazing. That and Bonds is lying through his teeth and should be procecuted for perjury.

Doesn''t this all feel soo contrived and staged? Release of these documents almost a year after the fact, during the doldrums of the off season for baseball?

Not wanting to get into P&C territory that I''ll only say that I bet there will be more hearings on this when congress reconvenes.

Yes, I''m sure it leaked after the season for a reason.

What types of testing do football and basketball have that would stop this type of thing from happening there provided it''s not already?

Oh and I want Williams to just go away. At this point who really cares about him other than the train wreck you just can not look away from.

From what I remember, football has all kinds of testing and is much harsher and faster in banning substances and punishments than baseball. Basketball is an interesting question, I don''t know what they test for besides drugs. Then again in basketball, you don''t see to many really bulky guys because then they aren''t fast. Ben Wallace, Shaq, a few others...

Football: first offence suspended for 4 games, goes into a rehab program of some sort... 2nd offence is one year I think, and 3rd offence is banned.

Basketball I am not sure.

The whole thing is quite frustrating. After watching 20/20 last night, you realize that now, we''ven become the East Germans. Criminy. And, assuming it''s as widespread as some claim it is, i''m beginning to wonder if it can be stopped, and if we should just say ""screw it, do what you want"" and leave the guys to kill themselves in pursuit of those extra 20 feet on their fly balls.
