Goldeneye: Rogue Agent a dud?
Sunday, November 28th, 2004 - 5:20pm
I was checking over Gamerankings today and saw these scores -
X-Box: 65.7%
PS2: 62.9%
GCN: 58.5%
Anyone play the game yet? Is it really all that bad? It sure looks like a competent shooter. I'm surprised the scores are coming out so low. Then again, having not played it, I can't make an informed opinion.
Just not sure I trust the gaming press.

From what I''ve read, it''s not awful - just very dull and uninspired. Sounds as if it''s taking a lot of flack for using the Goldeneye name for a shooter that doesn''t even try to live up to its predecessor.

I''ve been saying they shouldn''t have even touched that name ever since they announced it.
You could tell from the videos is wasn''t going to come close to living up to everyone''s expectations.

I don't imagine master craftsmen leaping away from completed projects and shouting "Done, motherf*ckers! - 1Dgaf
I guess It''s somewhat related, someone linked this Making of Goldeneye article at another forum. It''s here. I was surprised to see they based it off Virtua Cop.
the game engine plays like Bond On Ice, sliding around and shooting, plus the default pistol apparently never runs out of ammo. i''ve tried to empty the thing.
Can you fly, Bobby?
IGN''s video review tried to point out things they liked about the game, but you could tell they just eventually gave up on it.
I can''t really blame em. Doesn''t look all that interesting.
