Black Friday 2004 Deals
Monday, November 22nd, 2004 - 10:38am
Everyone's favorite shopping day, aka Black Friday, is just a few days away. I found this site which looks fairly legitimate and lists the various deals that are exclusive to this Friday.
Enjoy, happy shopping, and if you are forced to work that day... well, good luck I guess and watch out for stampeding customers. ![]()

thanks for posting this. i don''t have anything to say really...other than my wife now wants to go to several places on friday...which for her is actually unusual. She likes shopping in crowded stores as much as I do. That said, I didn''t even look at the Walmart link. *shudder*
Nice site... Too bad staples isn''t giving away anything good for free this year... Last year I got a free 52X CDRW.

If I do any shopping at all on Friday, it''s going to be from the comfort of my own home via this internet thingy we got goin'' on here.
Last year I did get a couple of great online deals at EBgames.com for my efforts.
WoW Baelgun: Omusa, Spits
Not all that many great deals compared to years past. Think I''ll avoid the run-around this year unless my family just has to go out shopping.
Everything can be debated, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's debatable.

Black Friday is always ''don''t leave the house day'' for me. With WoW it makes it alot easier.
Black Friday is not the worst... Saturday before Christmas is always the busiest retail day of the year. Second busiest is the Saturday before that. It was kinda fun working Black Friday because of all the hype and then realizing it was just a warm up!

That site lists some decent deals at EBGames...In the white knuckle action category, there''s Doom 3 for $19.99, Riddick for $9.99, Call of Duty $9.99, Max Payne 2 $9.99, CoD: United Offensive $19.99, etc. Lots of other stuff of varying degrees of coolness.
I may actually spring for Doom 3 at $19.99. And if you own an XBox and do not own Riddick, there''s no excuse for passing it up at $10.

A couple years ago at Toys R Us we broke $300,000 on Black Friday. I worked a really long shift. We had the first $230,000 in before noon. It was far from anything I would consider fun. I missed work the next day with the permission of my boss, because I essentially worked every hour the store was open and thensome.
This year I work 6AM to 2PM at a store that last year only did $40,000. It should be quite relaxing by comparison, and I actually look forward to it.
Also: Riddick for $9.99?
I assume EBGames means that''s an online deal?

No idea...it''s just listed on that site under EBGames if you go to the deals by store section. I assumed that it was for the brick & mortar stores, but I guess it could be either...

I showed a buddy the link and he sent me an .xls with all the deals in it.

I''m not sure whether to be sad or happy that I''ll be working all day friday. On the one hand I have an excuse to avoid the madness and not spend any money I don''t have. On the other hand, there are plenty of things I plan to buy someday that are on sale that day, but won''t be when I have money again. Ah well. I''ll just be bored at work while everyone else is on vacation.
