Lookie what I found @ Target

Went to Target on a whim to buy some pens for class and I perused the PC section as usual and behold! look what I found on the shelf.
Picked it up and I'm going to install and it and see if it lets me connect. It was the only copy I saw so I guess someone just put it out randomly not knowing anything.
I hate you.

Comes on 4 discs and a really well done manual. Slowest install ever though, only on second disk and its been almost 20 min. Oh and also 3.1gb of space is taken up.

Man that''s nothing. HL2 is 6gb and EQ2 is almost 4. I was kind of surprised really with it only being on 4 discs. I would have guessed 6 at least.
The beta install was 4.1 gb er some such IIRC.
That seems to be par for the course these days. EQ2, Tribes Vengeance, World of Warcraft, and Vampire is 2.9 gigs.

Let me just say this - World of Warcraft Collector''s Edition is the biggest, heaviest game box full of stuff I''ve ever seen.
It will blow your mind.
The highest I have seen is 8gb, I believe it was FFXI with the Expansion installed.
You know, I thought it was gonna be gargantuan as well.. but if I select properties of HL2 in my steam games menu, it says it''s only using 839MB... what''s up with that?

Install sizes are pretty ridiculous these days. Some of us don''t have a big enough hard drive to keep up with them.

Cool Opti. I''ve had my Collector''s edition for a day or two. It is mucho cool. Blizzard sure know how to put together a CE. I like the progress they have made with their DVD''s as well. I remember how the Diablo DVD just had the cutscenes of the game. This one has the Intro movie, all of the trailers they released during deveopment, and some really cool featurettes with the developers talking through how they made design decisions.

Yeah I tried logging in and it said come back the 23rd.
On an interesting note it took me over an HOUR to install the game on 4 cds. I dunno if it was my cdrom drive or the disc, but I tried it on another drive and it did the same thing. Who knows. Important thing is it actually worked
