A depressed Republican...
With the election over, it's taken all the fun out of it.
Before the election, when I would see stories in the press that were clearly intended to embarrass the President, I would get all worked up. Now when I see it I go, "Who cares. He won already." Good news or bad news it doesn't matter because it'll be another four years before we have a Presidential election. What's the point?
It's like, no matter what anyone says or complains about, it's too late for it to matter anymore. I don't even care that the press made a bigger deal out of the marine killing the insurgent who was on the ground than the terrorists who cut the head off the aide worker. It doesn't even tickle me that Clinton's advisor's removed the tent from the Presidential Library so it would "look good on TV" and the result was a washed up Clinton giving a speech. Yawn...
Oh well, maybe I'll try Half-Life 2 tonight, or Halo 2 or watch Elf.
Sigh....
I'm bringing sexy back!

Pity that the Dems won''t sink so low as to impeach the president on trumped-up ridiculous grounds, eh? That''d make it more exciting for you again.
Maybe you can put a picture of Dan Rather on the wall and throw darts at him, muttering ""What''s the frequency Kenneth?"" That might help dull the pain of victory...

I don''t think the Dems will, and frankly I hope they don''t. I thought it was an embarassment to our country that the Republicans in Congress at that time sunk so low as to do that. Impeachment is there in case we need it, but it should only be used when we need to. I don''t think Bush has truly done anything that qualifies as impeachable, any more than Clinton did.
Kitty Cat...another time, another place. To me...lying before a grand jury (which would get all of us sent to jail) DOES indeed rise to the level of impeachment. And it abhorred me that the Dems'' pulled up their shell and voted blindly despite facts or evidence or the RULE OF LAW!
sigh.... meow anyone?

Pigpen, if you''re going to continue posting in here I want you to cut out the various little comments that add zero to the conversation and potentially piss people off. I''m sure there''s no harm meant but it''s better left out of the posts.
Yeah, it's scary. I'm staring into the abyss right now, and it's staring into me, which I think is kind of a dick move on the abyss's part. - Nyles
No worries Certis... Don''t see how it causes harm, but I''m just someone adding input, so I can go along...I''m more trying to keep it light and fluffy with a hint of humor because the mood in the political forum has become so dark and full of despair of late. I''ll be glad to post purely without humor or smiles...but that seems to just add to the angst of the forum.
It was more an attempt at a smile to Farscry, who I''ve come to respect with his opinion, while usually still disagreeing with.
Sorry if you got complaints. I ask that you please remember to post such direct comments when someone ventures past failed attempts at humor to call someone a jerk as happened to me by Sanjuro.
I''m also confused overall as part of the fun and humor of gamers with jobs on all three forums seems to be the puns/comments/references to arcane posts -- and this seems to be perfectly acceptable -- despite me being somewhat new and not getting half of the comments about the past, or not finding humor in some posts on various subjects (I figure if I don''t like it, I move on to the next subject).
So I''m quite confused...but have no problem sticking purely to subject in all forums as needed -- just didn''t think this was what everyone did around here.

The Politics and Controversy board is a different animal alltogether, I think, than the other 2 boards here. This particular forum can get a bit hairy. Notice all the cruddy animal references in the past 2 sentences. Anyway, what I''m getting at is politics for a lot of people tend to get their hackles up and hair (fur?) standing on end, so sometimes you have to be a bit more careful with what you say or when you say it. A thick skin doesn''t hurt, either. I think that''s why a good majority of the members of Gamers don''t come here and post, and one of the reasons I tend not to post as often as I did. I do still come and read the posts, though, and I find most of them very good and interesting.
Anyway, I''m just babbling. As far as the whole Clinton fiasco, our country was laughed at so, so, so very much by every other country over that. Well, with the possible exception of perhaps India, where they do not allow talk of sex and ban movies that have it..
I''m sure that if any potentially damaging scandals arise during the Bush presidency, his lackeys in Congress will simply alter the laws to protect him. After all, they just did it with Tom DeLay, right?

That wasn''t politically motivated... it was to correct the rule that was passed for a political reason in the first place and should have been removed!! Just because it was the Republicans who got it passed in the first place in order to embarrass a Democrat at the time means nothing!!! Nothing to see here move along...

Better start listening to Sean Hannity. According to him the the war is still on. The liberals are out to destroy America.........
I thought that was a given...eh?

Fear not, dude, I only took it as such. Same goes here, as I''m sure you know.
As for the grand jury thing, my whole problem was that it was even brought in front of a grand jury in the first place. Way prior to this hitting the level of perjury, it was turned into a grandstanding circus, which never should have happened.
Granted, what he did never should have happened (at least in the Oval Office with anyone other than his wife), but it was an embarassment to our country the way it was pursued.
I''ll give you that Farscry...what got me about the whole thing is no one seems to even make attempts to do what is right anymore...and by that, I direct the comment at politicians. As such...the Republican''s pulled out the ''burn the witch'' mantra, and the dems pulled out the ""see no evil, hear no evil, speak/vote no evil"" for the party.
That is what did, and still in today''s politics sickens me.

We just want to get to do it before the Republicans do.
