I just got my preorder of the limited edition.

Too bad I had to preorder it from Gamestop.

I figured I'd just buy the game direct from Sony and download it. It's not like I'm going to resell it.

Playing P3P right now in anticipation. Plus I've never played it before and Persona 4 Arena reminded me how freaking awesome the series is.

Torn between getting the limited edition, or the download.

I got the limited edition because it is actually limited, (Only 10,000) and the cases are actually functional. It's not some giant statue that's just going to take up space. That being said, I may be one of those terrible terrible people that sells it on ebay.

I am all over this as soon as it hit's the UK. Whenever that is

You're in for a treat - it's BRILLIANT.

So my Vita should be renamed the Persona Machine Handheld or PMH. I love that limited edition.

Well I played Persona 3 before, for around 100 hours. And I've played Persona 3 FES for a bit north of 200 hours. So it's not like I'm completely ignorant.

But they, and my ~100 hour save of Persona 4, are on my friend's PS2 memory card and I don't have a PS2 in any event. So far the changes in the female storyline are interesting, and it's nice to see the protagonist with a personality. Plus not having to be a manwhore, I appreciate that.

I wasn't sold on the LE, but that's partly because I already have the First Edition Bundle case, and most of the other things you get as a pre-order bonus anyway (skin + backgrounds). So the LE for me is nearly 2x the cost, for a case I won't use and a bunch of stickers.

Can't wait for the game though, been playing a lot of P4A lately so I want to see how all the characters originally get together.

It will be one of my rare Vita downloads whenever it hits the EU store.

I don't know why, but I'm really looking forward to this.
Just started a play through of persona 3 as the female character as I lost my male character save 8 hours in. Never played any persona game other than that 8 hours.

I hope PSN updates as early as it has been because I can't wait to see how this looks in my hands.

Both of the Devil Survivor games and now Persona 3 Portable have made a fan of me.

I like the zippered case on the Limited Edition looks great. Just not $30 great. I have a one-dollar zippered case for the PSP, found in a closeout area and love the thing. A Persona branded one -- excellent.

I'll probably pre-order the game but wait to buy the Vita until my birthday in January. That way I can make sure Christmas looks good for the kids but not worry about this game selling out.

That's all my PSP Go has been for the past year, so why not just carry on the tradition with the system's successor?

Well would you look at that - I go checking the UK PSN store on Vita and P3Portable is on sale...and I have just enough money in the PS wallet thingy to cover it.

That should tide me over until PS4 Golden turns up in Europia.

*snip*
never mind - got over excited and thought this was a persona thing not a boring old non persona SMT thing.
*end snip*

I wish the premium edition had something besides a case and cover (I already have a nice case and don't want a stupid cover permanently attached to my system). The sticker for the system isn't something I'd want either. :/

Then again, I can't think of a good pack-in besides a figure...

I'm leaning towards getting it for half the cost and just going digital.

I guess I should check in. I'm about 20-25 hours in to P3P and liking it. Can't wait for P4's updated graphics.

Oh man, a Thanatos figure would be badass. I'd pay $150 for that.

So what's different in this version?

Lets see...

New area.

New personas.

New voice actors for Teddy and Chie.

Local help mode (someone near by can "cheer" for you in battle-stat boost)

A dark souls kind of thing (Stats will be display on what other players did on different days.

Thats everything on the top of my head.

Hold on...is the digital version half the cost of the regular boxed version or half the cost of the limited edition?

Half of the limited edition, probably. If the limited edition is $70, and the 'disc' edition is $40, then the download should be $35

Wait. Wait wait wait wait wait.

They're replacing Tracey Rooney? She was great in that role.

All of that stuff looks amazing. The choice to get new voice actors kind of baffles me though. What was wrong with the originals?

They either couldn't get the original voice actors/actress or they couldn't hammer out a new contract for the game. I think the voice of Chie wanted to come back to do the roll. From what I searched online says that Atlus has no comment.

Also possibly swapped to match the voice actors for the Persona 4 anime's localization dub.

Actually that does remind me. Apparently the voice actor's guild has rules that lines need to be re-recorded for new SKUs. I don't know if that's universal or just a north american thing. But I do remember Relic had to re-record all of the voice for DoW: Retribution because it was a standalone, not just an expansion. I really wish they could have simply paid them twice because the actors or editing team kind of phoned it in. The new voices lack the same inflection and emotion that made the originals great.

So you've heard the new voices already? How? Did I miss a trailer?

I think he meant the re-recorded voices in Dawn of War: Retribution.

Oh, that makes sense. Although I was hoping for a trailer.
