Your most anticipated game without a release date/
Everyone's all over Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 and Metroid Prime 2 and the new GTA and Metal Gear games, and with good reason.
But what's the one more distant "upcoming" game that you're excited about? Stuff that doesn't have a firm (or even less-than-firm) release date?
For me, the one game that has me jumping in anticipation like no other is an odd choice perhaps, but it's SOCOM for the PSP. I really like SOCOM online on PS2, and online military-style combat in general, like CS and Call of Duty.
Being able to play portable SOCOM online over WiFi on that nice fat PSP widescreen is going to change my whole outlook on portable gaming overnight. Especially since I work and go to school on a university campus that is blanketed in WiFi.
Gran Turismo mobile and Puyo Pop and Hot Shots Golf (all of which appear to have WiFi support coming too) are in a similar boat with me. But I would buy a PSP pretty much just for the SOCOM game, assuming they didn't botch it.

Heck, it''s out in just a couple weeks for Xbox, and February for PC.
Definitely with you on the rest though. Especially BioShock. I''m just turning on my personal reality distortion field, and allowing BioShock to be the great System Shock successor in my mind until proven otherwise.

Definitely another one of those online military shooter games I love.

That''s an estimate, not a date. In fact, it could be earlier than that if Obsidian can handle any bugs that crop up when they get back to it in a couple of weeks.

Well the idea was even a not-firm release date. I was aiming more at games without anything even that solid.

I would say Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls 4 top my list. Although I tend to not get too excited about games before they are released. I am pretty excited abouy EQ2 right now though.

Hmm, I guess Fallout 3. Nothing I''ve heard about that''s still a long way off sounds all that exciting. Mostly sequels, and mostly more-of-the-same. Not that there aren''t exciting games coming, just that they have firm release dates.

Damn, there are some that just beg for this. How about a Napoleanic War''s? WWI? WWII? Vietnam? There are a few more ages they can tackel nicely but I doubt there are many that require melee combat that will be left after Battle for Middle Earth.

That I would buy. I love the Napoleanic era. Not done very much either. British rifles and infantry men versus the French voltigeurs and hussars (or were they German?). I almost salivating over forming squares and breaking the lines. I so want a new Napoleanic era war game.
