There was a lot of early skepticism around the new SSX but man I think it looks fantastic. I've been wanting a new SSX for a long time (SSX3 is easily one of my most-played games) and it looks like they are going to deliver! Looks pretty awesome to me.

I don't know why, but I just haven't gotten interested in this. It's probably because I didn't care for "on tour" and I never spent as much time with Blur as I really wanted to. SSX 3 was the pinnacle of the series for me by a long shot. But I honestly enjoyed the added lean for more carve in Blur. The uber's just got a bit out of hand, especially if you hadn't played in a while.

I do fear they'll be adding too much terrain and so it each little bit will all loose the awesome insanity of what made the series what it once was.

Tricky and 3 were my favourites.... On Tour was just... and i never even got up enough energy to buy a Wii and try out Blur.

This is on my radar but it's far from an assured purchase at this point.

Personally I really enjoyed On Tour, but I can understand why some people didn't. I really enjoyed the integrated feel of the game, how it felt like you were just on a giant mountain without strongly divided areas, and with random kids on the field even when you were in certain events.

And I'm drooling. I loved the SSX games on the PS2, so I will be getting this for the PS3 to get some awesome race action going on.

I was a huge fan of SSX 2 and 3, but what I've seen of this game so far hasn't done anything to get me excited. I really hope that changes in the coming months. I want to be excited for a new SSX.

Have you watched the survival mode trailer? I think that's what really sold me on it, more than anything. That looked fantastic.

Anyone have any thoughts on the 9,000 different pre-order combos? That seems weird.

Already added to budget. I loved SSX3 and Tricky. I can't wait to shred it again.

I played the original and I played Tricky.

I'm actually really excited about this one.

I loved the crap out of SSX Tricky, and SSX 3 too.

Really looking forward to this.

Where's the Kinect support?!

Had a blast playing Tricky on the Gamecube so consider me interested.

I'm definitely tempted, even though my last snowboarding game was 1080 Snowboarding way back on the N64.

You know very well that as much of a laggy mess as Kinect is right now, that would only be a huge recipe for frustration. Kinect desperately needs a firmware update for lag issues and better leg/lower body tracking before they could even consider something as integrated as a snowboarding game.

Any word on starting stats, so to speak? My favourite part about 1 and 2 was the feeling of going from a schlub to a superstar; the thing that really turned me off of World Tour (and I think 3; I can't remember anymore) was the fact that I could a standing misty from the get go. Pulling off a quad or quintuple flip in the later games wasn't near as much of a rush as finally being able to do a double back in Tricky.

(Part of that, I think, is that I could see the difference between a single and a double, a 180 and a 360. I found it much harder to differentiate a quintuple spin from a hextuple spin, and just held joysticks until I landed.)

I don't think I've seen that yet. I'll look it up when I get home today and hope it turns my frown upside down.

It's the linked video in the OP, so you won't have to look far.

Can. Not. WAIT!!!

SSX and Tricky may have been the most-played games in my PS2. Will definitely be a welcome addition to my PS3 library.

SSX3 was one of the best sports games I've ever played. I adore it, and have been waiting for a true follow-up for years now. I hope this one nails it!

Spoiler:

pun fully intended!

If it recaptures the magic of SSX and SSX Tricky, I'm there. I actually can't wait. I've been waiting for a sequel that would wash away the bad taste left behind by SSX Blur.

SSX Tricky was a favorite on the Gamecube. It blows my mind that it took this long for a proper next gen sequel.

I want a multiplayer free roam mode where a group can just start at the top and all run down together, just for giggles.

I was a huge SSX fan back with the original, Tricky, and 3. I want to be excited about this one, but I also want to see it actually being played first.

Seriously though, they need to re-release Tricky with updated graphics as an XBLA download...

This. 100 times this.

Love SSX, tagged.

I'd pay $60 if they dropped in online multiplayer.

This game has got me all hot and bothered... can't wait!

Wow, I played the crap out of Tricky on the Gamecube. Too bad there's no PC port. I may have to steal my Xbox back from my brother to play this...
