Heartfelt thanks and a request for help from the community
About six months ago, I asked the GWJ community for help. I had successfully signed with a literary agent for my first novel, 72 Hours. I needed people to read the book and post reviews on my agent's site. I expected two or three people to help. Instead, I received an overwhelming wave of support. Nearly two dozen members of GWJ read my novel and posted wonderful reviews on the site.
Unfortunately, bad luck stepped in. The agency went bankrupt, and I was once again without representation. When Goodjers found out, I got a small avalanche of encouraging messages. A number of you suggested that I should self-publish, and I decided that was the route I was going to take. With the invaluable help of BadKen, who formatted my book for eReaders, helped me spot mistakes, and was genuinely phenomenal on all levels, 72 Hours is now ready for release.
So now, I'm asking once more for help. As a self-published author, I know I'm fighting an uphill battle to gain any kind of a significant audience. For any Goodjers who are willing to help, I need three things: ideas, reviews and promotion. If anyone has any good ideas for how I can expand my audience, please let me know. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Second, reviews. Amazon and Nook sales live and die by customer reviews. I need as many as possible. If you've read my book and can post a review, that would be amazing. If you have a Kindle or Nook and are willing to write a review, PM me and I will happily send you a free copy.
Finally, promotion. I will post the links to the various sales outlets below. If a few people here could repost those links on social networks, blogs, the bathroom wall at TGI Fridays, it would help to expand my audience and get my book a bit more attention.
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed so much to this effort. I've wanted to be a novelist since I was ten years old, and the support and encouragement of this community has brought me closer than I ever thought possible. If you end up with a copy of the book, check the acknowledgements.

EDIT: Link to the print edition is up!
My website, which has the first ten chapters and a short story available to read.
Another short story is up, this one featuring some familiar characters from the book. It's called The Albino Vs. The Sea Lion.
I will soon have links for versions on the Sony Reader, iBooks, and Kobu. I also am currently reviewing the proof of a print copy, and I will post those links as they come up.
Thanks again to everyone.

I agree with all the rest. You need to write more of these. With or without Pryoman, yogurt or ejaculation.

I'd love to read and review it on my Kindle... and the day I can't spend $5 on a potentially good book is a day I hope never comes. Bought, will give it a read and a review once I finish my current book. Good luck.

Bought one on the Kindle for myself, and for my Dad, who is a big Michael Connelly fan.

Can you do an audio version of the first chapter or two and provide that? I know that helps a lot of people looking to sample books. - Alternately, see if you can get Prederick to do it

I'll keep checking in here once you have a printed copy up for sale. I don't have a Kindle or anything, but I will gladly shell out some money to have a copy displayed proudly on my bookshelf.
Good luck! I'll make sure to write a review for you and spread the word.

Just got the new proof. The first one had some alignment issues, so I had to send it back. Once I've reviewed this one, I'll go ahead and approve it, and provide those links.
Many thanks to those who have already helped.

Review will follow, of course. And best of luck in the meanwhile!

I read this back when you asked for the recommendations on the agent's site. Loved it. Put up a review on the Amazon site. Good luck.
Purchased! Will give it a shot when I finish with Reamde.
I was looking for something new to read. Purchased and will review. I have to tell you, the first 3 sentences convinced me that I am going to enjoy this

Ditto this, just bought on Kindle. I'll put up a review as soon as I get it read.

I already have a legal (review) copy, but not one through Amazon yet.
So, will get one there and leave a review behind.
I loved reading this one and the sense of (sarcastic) humor is one I can appreciate .
-update-
weirdly enough, for me it was $8.04. Not $5 like earlier mentioned in this thread.
Of course still worth it

16% in and I actually laughed aloud at a particular sentence in the Walmart. So far so good.

No, but there is a disturbing similarity...
