Which EQ2 Class Are You/Will You Be?
Tuesday, October 26th, 2004 - 4:55pm
Since we had the WoW thread already, and since so many of us are playing EQ2 right now, I figured we could use a topic for EQ2 classes...
My first inclination, after playing a bard in beta, would be to play something completely different, but I just REALLY like the bard. So that's my vote.
And YES, I decided last night that I'm gonna try to play both EQ2 and WoW. Call me crazy.
By the way, here's a good description of all the Classes.

If I get it, I''ll be a healer of some sort. I''m good at it.
"And my son, too, thinks everything is a launchpad, every bug a meal, and every sunny day a reason to take all your clothes off and roll around in the grass." - rabbit
I''ll be going down the Fighter/Brawler line. Whether I go monk or bruiser, I''m not sure yet. I just don''t know enough. Though I''ll likely go monk.

I''m leaning towards a mage for retail.
Certis beat me to it. - Elysium
So, any reason? Good for solo? I take it you are going with WoW and EQ2?
Xbox Live: Kooter06
Yeah, I wil more then likely play a mag, I play a 67 Wizard in eqlive.
When I was a boy the Dead Sea was only sick. George Burns
I''ll have a review copy of EQ2, otherwise I doubt I''d pay for EQ2, my WoW account AND Karla''s WoW account all in the same month. As for why? I''ve been playing a lot of fighters and rogues these days, I''m ready to get back to my roots and try a caster. I doubt they''re very good for soloing but we''ll see.

I was thinking about trying out the priest class. However i''m not sure I know which sub-class i''ll go with.

I will most likely go the fighter->crusader->paladin route. I just can''t help it. However, one of my friends is actively trying to push me out of my rut to play a mage, so my current beta character is a mage. If I ever get a chance to play the beta enough to form a real opinion, I might even change.
Oh, and Warlock, you''re crazy. I''m trying to figure out how I''ll have enough time to play both EQ2 and CoH, and CoH is not a time intensive game . . . After playing both betas, I can certainly see how someone could enjoy both EQ2 and WoW, but not how a normal person would have the time to play them both . . .
Graktar, Orc Hunter
I''m going to try for a priest since that is my favorite class. However having the beta is a double-edged sword because I always create the kind of character I think I would like, play it for a lloooong time, then when the retail comes out I''m so sick of it I lose interest in the game altogether!
If I''m not sick of it whenever I get it I will be most likely a mage or priest.
In EQ1 I was an ogre warrior and the wife was a cleric...we''ll probably do the same for EQ2.
My brother, sister-in-law, and I typically try to make our group-in-a-can. That said, I was typically the priest before, now I''m switching to a tank role (Fighter-Warrior-Beserker/Guardian) and my brother will take over the CC duties, and my sis-in-law do some healing.
Hi, I'm the new guy.
GO BENGALS.
None for me. EQ is like crack - I saw what it did to my friends, and I''m staying away.
I will either be a priest/druid/fury, a mage/enchanter/coercer, a mage/summoner/conjurer, a mage/summoner/necro, a scout/predator/ranger, a scout/bard/dirge, or a priest/shaman/defiler
Wow, thats a lot more evil classes than I figured. Dont know if Fury is evil or neutral. (I figure the Warden is the good counterpart) I usually do not gravitate towards evil characters. Its just wierd that it seems to me that the good subclasses add buffs to the class, and the evil subclasses are about dealing damage. For reference compare the (warden/fury, illusionist/coercer, dirge/troubador
I may even try a Wizard due to the class specialty of ice form. I may also be a monk due to the announced shapeshifting into a tiger.
It looks like to counter Shadowknights summoning skeleton pets, that Paladin''s will be able to summon a ""squire"". Its kinda vague but Im making an educated guess that its an equivalent of the Sk''s skellie.
Being fangoriously devoured by a gelatinous monster.
Don''t forget, you''ll need a monkey and a bucket.
"And my son, too, thinks everything is a launchpad, every bug a meal, and every sunny day a reason to take all your clothes off and roll around in the grass." - rabbit
I don''t know probable a scout>ranger... but maybe druid instead, I have look into how the travel magic will break down and who will have the best group travel spells. Gotta keep that guild a moving, if we sit to long that leads to talking which can lead to complaining which leads to giant frying pans smacking people in the head... then it gets ugly
. My alt will absolutely be a Monk. that was the class I wanted to love in EQ but things didn''t really work out (sadly) but maybe this time things will be different.

Did Samurai Jack ever get back to the past?
Yeah, I think WoW will definitely be my main focus... I''m leaning towards EQ2 mostly for maybe a one or two night a week affair, with the GWJ crew.

I''m thinking druid would suit me.

I''m going to wait a week or so, then I''m gonna play what''s UBAH (that week)!
I was a Shammy and a SK in EQ, might go for the powa of the dark side.
Actually, I''ll prob play 2 or 3 chars before I settle down on my main. I also like to blast stuff so maybe a mage.
Hmm...sometimes I think I''m indecisive, other times I''m not so sure.

I''d like to be a monk.

lol, the lion''s share of the votes are ""Man, F that game!""
That''s classic.
Hi, I'm the new guy.
GO BENGALS.
Just say No to Evercrack.
"When will then be now?"
GWJ FF 2004 CHAMPION!
Warrior type since I play with a cleric friend all the time and we now made friends with a person that plays an enchanter. A fairly good combo for 3 person group.
Tel no surprise really a lot of people on this board do not like SOE and want to play WoW so you have slightly less than half the people that voted say F the game if you ask me is not bad.
Yeah, I voted for that option and I had a rant here but it''s better deleted.

8+3+3+3... 17.
F That Game... 11.
Not exactly a lion''s share.
Yes, there are more people not playing the game than who are playing a specific class, but if we''re talking ""Are you playing"" or ""Aren''t you playing"" the ""Are""s have it, ATM.
