Just pre-ordered the DS - Funny Fanboys!

I went down to the EB in the mall at lunch to pre-order the DS. Couldn't pre-order any games though as I guess they weren't in their system. The sales guy looked thrilled as always, grumpiest EB grunt I've ever come across. He makes buying games a happy, fun experience.
"Yeah I'd like to pre-order the DS" - He doesn't even look up "Pfft.. yeah, sure.. whatever, how much down" I slapped down the cash and took the golden receipt. Such enthusiasm.
Anyway, they were clearing some of the oversized Xbox/PC display boxes from the walls, and there was a nice stack. The MS rep was in and my buddy asked if he could have the Project Gotham 2 box - the rep was like yeah, take a couple! Very cool, I noticed the oversized Halo box and I made sure to snag that right away. Gave us a couple of real shiny Halo 2 stickers.
Then out of nowhere, this older guy comes up to us. "Is that guy giving away those boxes.. I want MechAssault!!!" He quickly shuffles over to the remaining stack. I turn to him and say "Guess what, he has Halo 2 stickers too, and they're shiny!" He starts getting this frantic look and goes "Oh my god, does he have the timer, the countdown timer!?!?"
I assume that was in reference to some Halo 2 keychain clock thing, but he proceeded to make a beeline for the rep.

Anyone else pre-order the DS or will be picking up on day one? First game you're gonna buy? For me it's a toss up between Wario Ware DS and Touch The Magic..
I haven''t seen a compelling reason to purchase the DS yet. However, if they come up with a browser for it so I can lie in bed and surf with it wirelessly instead of a bulky hot laptop, you better get the kids off the streets between me and the closest store that sells it.

It''ll be neat to see what the underground crowd will do with Flash-GBA carts and the DS Wi-Fi. I wouldn''t completely discount a browser somewhere in the future. Wooo.. surfing in BED!

I''m with jada...browsing with that thing would be sweet also there is an apple store in my mall so they provide free wifi access for anyone near by...I also happen to live next to the mall...YES!

The DS looks cool, but nothing is screaming for me to play it.
There''s a few games on the PSP that I must-have. Maybe it''s just me, but the port of WipeOut XL has me pumped. I think that will be a superb ""pick up and play"" game.
Plus, the prospects of a PSP SOCOM over the wireless connection is my ""killer app"".
Wireless handheld gaming would be a great way to kill dead time around campus, but I''m still waiting for the DS to show something that I''d want to play with someone else.

I keep flirting with pre-ordering one, as the games are looking pretty good at this point too. It also appears to be getting quite a bit of support. The second SquareEnix announces a Final Fantasy for it, I will immediately pre-order one.
I don''t know if it counts, but I know FF: Crystal Chronicles is coming out. Plus the FF: 2/3 double pack for the GBA. And you just know a new FF:TA (FFT:DS?) will come out.
There''s really no ""killer app"", but I love Wario Ware and would buy the system alone for a ""touch screen"" version. Feel the Magic looks very fresh and original. Mario DS doesn''t appeal to me at all, and Metroid - meh, looks ok.
Advance Wars DS is shaping up nicely too.
Plus Pictochat, so I can randomly freak out people around me by drawing obscene material on their DS''s

Have no fear, I have Final Fantasy I and II on order, as I didn''t bother to pick up the Origins package for the playstation. I would like to see a VII remake, though for a handheld, although I think the PSP might be the one to get that one. It is just a game of wait and see right now.
I want FFVII on the handheld so bad I can taste it...

man, at my store i''m nutty with the happy stuff, unless stupid / stoned people come in, which does happen at least 3 times per day (we''re located near some sh*thole inner city in upstate NY.)
ALL of that marketing sh*t gets tossed, the metal Halo 2 display cases, the boxes, demos, toys, etc. so i ask the GM for it before he tosses it. some ghetto thug stole our Halo 2 / GTA banner (4 foot by 9 foot i guesstimate,) and the area where we are located is lit up like a prison. yet they STILL took the goddamned thing.
