There wasnt an option for both Retail Collectors and Steam Gold

Silver - For $5 more I get (the latest version of) the best WWII FPS ever created in addition to instant CS:S access.
With the original HL/CS/DoD, once you purhcased you could enter your key into to Steam and have it available anywhere where the (Steam) client was loaded. Is that going to be true for retail purchasers of HL2?

Retail Standard. I''d like Half-Life Source, but I don''t give half a crap about CounterStrike.
Oh, and does this mean that the CS and DoD mods are no longer free? I guess so, they wouldn''t up the price if you could just download them when you got the stardard edition home...
"PEACE ON EARTH. GOOD WILL TO MEN. PUBLIC SHELTER. ADMISSION 50¢"
I picked up Silver Steam. I have to admit, on a whole I''m more in favour of electronic distribution than physical for the most part. I agree with the comments that I should be getting it for a cheaper price, but that being said its nice to not have another box to clutter my office up.
no particular interest, no particular talent
No option for people with the coupon. I guess I''ll go with steam bronze
I believe you will get CS:Source in one form or another regardless of which package/delivery method you choose as Valve has stated that CS:Source is considered to be the official version of ""Half-Life 2 Multiplayer"". My guess would be that the regular box package, just like the Bronze Steam set does not include DoD:Source, though.
You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
If you''re talking about the ATI coupon, you have the option of purchasing the Silver or Gold version at their standard price less the price of the Bronze version. Otherwise, the ATI coupon is the Bronze version.
Edit:Bah ... Friday afternoon pwns me.

*grin* Gold Version.
I am a consumer whore!
Counter Strike and Half-Life have enriched my life beyond measure. Certainly beyond the measure of any paltry financial concerns. I pay homage to my gaming overlords and salute them with my debit card! Hail the age of steam!!
Now gimme posters, music cds, and other shiny crap!
Politely rude. Briskly vague. Firmly uninformative.
Did buy. Steam Bronze. I don''t see playing the CS:S much since the JO Escalation Beta is out.
BF2
BF2142
Y''all need an option for ""Not Buying.""
I got CS:Source bronze as well. I was planning to play it more but since everyone else was playing JO, I played that instead. Looking forward to CS:source action soon.

with BO3 and Fable waiting to be played.
arggg!
XBox Live: a7an
I dunno. Maybe I should just go for Bronze so I can pwn you n00bz in CS:S until November 23 or what is the current ""September 30"" date is for HL2 these days.

I completely missed the original Half life boat. I kept saying I was gonna buy it and never did. So I''ve never been in on any of the gaming goodness. That being said, I picked up the silver package so if the whim is upon me, I can see what I missed out on and kick myself in the arse.

I want the DVD version, so retail special edition for me.
Credulous at best, your desire to believe in angels in the hearts of men.
I didn''t see a ''not even thinking about it until R:TW releases me from it''s clutches'' option.
But I''ll probably either go with Steam when I finish all of the crack contained in that little red box. I don''t like Vivendi very much and I really want to see electronic distribution take off.

I never finished HL1 so I''ll be trying to do so in HL:Source
I'm still right here
Giving blood, keeping faith
if you read the poll question that option wouldnt really make sense.

Bah, you place FAR too much importance on actually READING these things, it''s so much more fun to have a knee-jerk reaction to a poll.
I should be on vacation when HL2 releases, I don''t like CS, DoD isn''t out yet, so there''s no reason for me to preorder. I''m also waiting to see if they''ll offer a version that substitutes DoD for CS. My guess is ""no"" since I assume Activision still has the DoD publishing rights & the additional $10 will cover that license fee.

I''ll wait and see. I have a hefty store credit from the last Circuit City $5 sale at GameStop so more than likely i''ll get the collectors.

Whichever one''s got HL: Source. I''m planning on giving that to my wife as an inauguration to FPS present
. And - for the nostalgia.

I''ll get the full Monty, $79.99 for a game of this magnitude even though I have no interest in CS at all.
Yankees rock, you know it's true...
I bought the Silver. My name online for the Friends list is Wabu.

seems like many of us have CS:Source. When will there be an official cs night?

Wii: 4859 2... oh f*ck it.
Server is down at the moment due to some connection issues with the T1, we''ll get something going soon assuming you can run the dedicated server without buying the full game.
